What the EA UFC 4 roster should look like

So I think many would agree, EA UFC 3’s roster was very disappointing at the start. It felt very dated and had several WTF omissions. So I compiled a roster here that I think would make everybody happy.I think many are hoping for a universe mode, which you need a good roster for and I think this one will do that for us.

For divisions that are smaller, I was a little more liberal in my picks to fill them out. For bigger divisions, I tried to keep to longtime veterans or fighters with a good record. I also kept veterans that I may not have picked to help fill out the roster, since I know they are easier to move over. This doesn’t include former fighters or any guest fighters. We are all also away of the imminent dissolution of the Flyweight Division, so I did not include that but moved both Benavidez and Cejudo up to Bantamweight.

I think this is a very current and good depiction of today’s UFC roster. I hope the developers see and consider this post.

So over 300 fighters, that in itself could be an awesome selling point to casual players. Is there anybody else that should be added or do you disagree with any of my picks? Let me know, we can modify this to fit what the community wants.

Agree that the roster was outdated at launch.

Also agree withyour suggestions. Looks like a solid line up.

This seems doable. The only problem (and a small part of the reason the roster was outdated at launch) is lets say we have 8 mos until release....alot of changes can happen to a roster. Cuts, FA departures, new fighters and retirements. UFC 3 lost 12 fighters because of Bellator alone.

With that said, I would be geeked if this was the roster.

Casuals probably can't name more than twenty fighters total so I doubt this is a huge selling point for them. Regardless, it would obviously be a welcome addition assuming that they are done properly which is a challenge in itself.

You think adding 129 new fighters is doable and feasible? It'd be great if that's the case.

Megan Anderson is in the game? Assuming that veterans means fighters already in the game. I don't understand sorry.

Yeah, this is true. But I also feel as though the roster didn’t get the attention it deserves, there were certainly some omissions that shouldn’t have been. How long before release did they lock it down for 3?

6 mos. The roster was locked when I played the game in August 2017.

I see, so I’m guessing 4 will likely release early 2020, so maybe I’ll do some updates in July. I really hope they put some more time into developing a large roster and developing some sort of booker mode. I think many here would be ecstatic about that.

It doesn't seem outlandish really, They did it between UFC 1 and 2 if memory serves.
That was a like.. 115 (UFC 1 fully patched) to 230-250 (at launch) jump or thereabouts.

I think the attrition rate is the biggest detriment to the roster.

                            Having said that...

If they are willing to put in big stars that are competing in Bellator (Chael, Rampage, Wanderlei)...the argument that they have to remove mid-low level fighters who get cut/released in between games falls flat on my ears now.

That argument made perfect sense before. But now? I'd argue there isn't any real reason to remove fighters unless your contractually obligated too. And from my understanding outside of a handful of examples, there aren't many fighters that retain those rights.

Yeah, 129 is feasible based on UFC 2. The only thing that could complicate that is if they have to use their art resources on other modes like career mode or a story mode or a universe mode.
