Top players: do you use a new gen console and/or monitor?

I’m trying to get a decent understanding of how many “top players” are using the new equipment these days.

How many of you are still hussling on the OG equipment? How many of you made the switch to new hardware?

Is playing at the top level possible without new equipment? Does anyone in the ESFL still use the old equipment?

Basically, I have no clue how prevalent new gen consoles/monitors are among the competitive community. For all I know, It could be 95%. But it could be just a slim portion, say 5%. I genuinely have no clue, and want to know.

and i’m on a regular ps4 and i’ll just say you’re at a major disadvantage. on the ground their denial windows feel huge compared to mine, and denying anything on reaction is basically impossible

there’s people who literally could never come close to beating me, who can beat me now after switching to a pro

I'm using a regular PS4 and normal TV. Especially when I'm at the bottom I basically have to guess which direction the top guy is gonna go in order to deny it. If I try to deny on reaction by the time I realise the transition it's already too late.

Yeah it's bs. The Windows they have are insane. They can even deny fakes or deny when they're in the middle of throwing a strike. And regarding the OP, almost all of the top players will be on a monitor at least most will have a PS4 pro.

I play on a regular TV... But I do have a Playstation 4 Pro now. Makes my videos look much better.

I am on Xbox one and was good at grappling in UFC 2 but I get absolutely stomped on the ground by anyone with a monitor or Xbox X

It’s hard to say. I’m not actively/regularly playing against top 10 guys. Of the players I have played in the past month, I wouldn’t say any of them were on my level, to be honest.

Against players on the bottom end of the top 25, I am able to take them down repeatedly, hold them down, and essentially have my way with them. It’s not even really competitive, I can go 5 rounds with these guys and not get hit with a single damaging strike.

The highest ranked player who I know is using an OG Xbox is luisevolution. He fluctuates around 20-30 in the rankings. I play him fairly frequently. We mess around a lot (striking only, etc) but when we play competitively (wrestling is fair game), I can genuinely say it’s not even competitive.

Of the few top players I play with, I don’t even go 100% cause I feel like I would just run right through them and they’d never want to play me again. I mean most of the “top” players I play don’t even realize that I could clinch them, slam them, put them in the crucifix, and TKO them any time I want. It almost ruins the fun for me, knowing I have that trump card “auto-win” if needed.

But I say all this to say, I just don’t know.

I’d have to play against a true top 10 player, who has a new gen console/monitor, to say definitively. Like I said, I play top 30ish players pretty regularly, and aside from a miracle flash KO or 1-2 gate sub, I win fairly easily.

I’d actually like to run a gauntlet. Just play all the best guys on here, one by one. Get a better idea of what exactly I’m capable of with this oldass xbox.

I’m currently sporting 103-7 record on ranked so i think that’s fairly good.

Nah that guy isn’t allowed on here. I’ll admit I hear he’s extremely good looking and unbeatable on the game, but that’s not me.

But the GT you’re thinking of is “the relaxed guy” as written.
