Either theres an entire layer that I'm missing or you have to be holding it preemptively which is ridiculous when a striker can land takedowns just as easily. How am i supposed to preemptively hold when leon edwards is in front of me? And if i dont he gets a free slam?? Seems wonky to me

I don't have problems defending takedowns from non wrestlers its the Usmans that I have an issue with. Granted I'm using Colby most but I usually get a double underhooks defense against most anyone else.


In order to get a sprawl you have to move your left stick away from your opponent and LT RT or L2 R2 on PS4

I'm assuming its because i havent been holding away.. but if it is its like why the hell isnt that in the controls lol. It shows Lt+rt. Woulda been nice to have idk a TUTORIAL lol. I dont mind learning a game at all but how about the game helps me out a bit

My favorite part is learning everything new and thats why I'm creating threads literally asking for advice. But at come on to throw new clinch subs and takedowns with 0 explantion is a little wild lol.

You get certain positions depending on what you direction you hold the left stick when denying a TD. I've been able to consistently get the position where you hold your opponent's head away from you and throw knees. Not sure what the name is though. It's a position in ufc 3 currently.

Takedowns are currently OP. There is a turning aspect to the drives that isn't being showcased fully because of the small deny window if you miss the pre-deny. People are camping on pre-denies successfully which is true, but it's not intended to be a pre-deny camp fest game like UD 2010.

If you turn the wheel slowly in the sub, doesn’t that just make it easier for the attacker? Seems like you can’t win.

True. They should either remove it, or make the offensive sub bar get smaller for the same reason.

No because the meter on the bottom fills a lot slower for the attacker unless your colour is fully inside his colour (or unless the stamina gap is huge). You don’t have to be outside of his colour completely the whole time to escape if that makes sense.

Few people have it down, but once you get it it’s as hard as ufc 3 to land TDs.

TDs are not OP. They are hard to get against someone that can read the TD attempt. In fact, they could probably make them a bit easier to achieve.

Find the Door used to do this in UFC 1. He was one of the worst and most hated spammers back in the day (spam TD and posture up and down until getting a sub).

He has completely changed since then. I would say he is a legit player now.

Subs in the clinch are blocked by holding R2, think of the clinch as a big 50/50 mind game. It's always either headstrikes and subs (R2) or Body strikes and Takedowns (L2+R2).
