Re: The game is unplayable without a tutorial.

I think not having any grappling/transition instruction when in the clinch is an issue. The clinch is new and nobody knows how to use it, and there’s no help prompts for transitions like you see on the ground in the grapple hud. Just flying around the octagon in single collar getting punched in the face trying to work out if you can get a takedown from there or not!

I agree there should definitely be some kind of tutorial included.

Yh they really should have allowed us in practice mode. Things are a bit confusing atm.

Yh the clinch is probably the most confusing part.

The true issues are in the ground game. The lack of options when a fighter postures up. Why remove the transitions? The submission mini game doesn’t make you feel like you’re trying to advance/defend a sub. UFC 3 sub game was near perfection. This is coming from someone who plays ufc 3 competitively at a high level.

You clinch by pressing RB/R1+ tap jab, so it depends whether you are orthodox or southpaw.

.. if you guys press start durning a fight with the AI it shows a complete move list for standing , clinch and ground.

This beta is so deep after I pressed start and learned the mechanics of the game ! Comparable to a high level chess match.

What do you think about the postured up ground and pound mechanics?

Betas are not demos. If you're coming into this expecting it to be a full representation of the final experience, then you're in the wrong place and you're guaranteed to be disappointed in some ways. And the final experience may very well not be what you want it to be, that is true.

Yes, you get some exposure to core mechanics and changes. Yes, many things will be very similar if not the same at release.

No, the beta does not include everything in the final game. It is not meant to be a substitute or a complete experience. It does not have the same flow, modes, polish, or content.

It's a very trimmed down version of the game which allows us to stress-test various systems and mechanics and gather very valuable feedback to better tune the actual release of the game and fix major issues we weren't able to find in-house.

I don't always agree with what does/doesn't get into the beta. I'm not sure why practice mode isn't there this time, but I trust the decision makers to have had their reasons. If that all you came here for was an early look (and no shame in that, I'd do the same for games I wanted to play), then just understand that this build isn't targeted to that.

That being said, I'm not suggesting you not give your feedback and honest impressions. Just asking that you take a moment to look at some of your assumptions about what this beta is presenting to you.

Thanks for playing, and being a part of the community, even if you find the game is not for you

                          dear Skynet

Are you guys still working on ko animations and finish the fight system. Will those be different in the full version?

How do you not know whats in the beta? Who is in charge of this stuff.... how can a practice mode be for "release" only.... you(EA) put out a beta and people are basing at least a portion of their reviews'opinions and no1 knows whats going on with controls or anything to do with clinch/grappling/subs which is like 80% of the game, its like mind boggling....the same how it took 5 years to put a ovr cap on caf's......

Who do we blame for these decisions? I keep seeing "its not my fault, or its not up to me, or i didnt know" so who is responsible for these things? Not trying to flame him/her just genuinely curious....

I like the ideas that you guys implemented in the clinch however I absolutely hate the screen turning red during events and submissions it completely takes away from the moment it makes me think of a Mortal Kombat finish... keep the game clean or at least give us the option to remove that effect..
Secondly there’s something missing out of the finish the fight moments they seem lacking and very generic..You guys spent a long time trying to perfect the finish the fight aspect on UFC 3
However it seems this game took a step back in that aspect.. or is it just me?
