Re: Offline player support
I've known about the caf slot work around going back to two too but I've never actually implemented it. The idea of dealing with logging in and out and load times etc really turns me off. But, I may have to do what I have to do this time around.
Question though...if I create 11 additional profiles to go along with my main one just so I can get the 22 caf slots per class, do I need to run updates/patches/dlc on all 12 of those profiles?
Like lets say they shoot us an update to patch a glitch and they also include Blagoy Ivanov and Emil Meek as DLC. I'll download the update/patch/dlc to my main profile like I normally do...but if I have
Tanner Boser and Claudio Silva CAF's in my HW and WW profiles and want them to fight the new DLC Ivanov and Meek do I need to run that update/patch/dlc on my additional profiles too?
Basically...does one update/patch/dlc download cover all profiles across the board or do I have to run it 12 times?Last edited by Irish0331; 07-22-2020, 02:16 PM.Comment

Re: Offline player support
I'm going to organize my profiles a little differently this year.
Instead of doing weight class profiles, I realized that my matchmaking is more heavily influenced by the type of event I'm running and where the event will be located.
For instance, if I'm running a Fight Night event at the The O2 Arena, it's going to be fight night level fighters with European/International backgrounds.
So this year my goal is to have just three profiles.- Primtime CAFS (PPV level)
- Fight Night level
- International
It might get tricky as certain fighters might need to get promoted to a higher level. But then I'll just delete a fighter, recreate them at that level and then I can delete the fighter from the level they came from and fill the slot with another CAF.
Hopefully I'm understanding the merged weight classes correctly because not having restrictions on who can fight who should help a bit, I would think.Comment

Re: Offline player support
I want to say we got a semi-explanation a couple years ago and it’s apparently difficult because of how they built the roster file architecture. It could be built in a way that allowed basically infinite slots, but it isn’t. I had really hoped they would rework while developing 4 but it looks like the resources went elsewhere.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Re: Offline player support
There are things that I cannot understand, and one of them is this, why being so stingy with the spaces to store our creations, why not facilitating as much as possible the imagination of people leaving as much freedom as possible in everything what has to do with the CAF of creation.
I hope that everything that has to do with reference to the CAF of creation, are quite significant improvements and not the opposite as I am hearing.
And if they do not add more CAF I hope that at least when saving them in a memory pencil, when using it it is linkable with those that are in the game and does not erase the rest of CAF, it only occupies the empty spaces that we have left, that way we could create hundreds and hundreds of fighters even if there were only 22 spaces to save.Comment

I do the same thing with events. I tend to do the same for US events too and load up east coast fighters for an MSG event or west coast fighters for a Hnda Center event etc...
The way you're breaking them down sounds good. Do you know if I have to download updates/patches/dlc to every profile I create or can I just do it once on my main one which flows into the others?Comment

When 3 dropped I recall being told something along the lines of "we only have 22 slots because we're never sure how many DLC fighters we're going to release so we wanna make sure we have room."Comment

I dont recall the patches ever being an issue for me as far as not having DLC on another account...so I guess not.

Re: Offline player support
Right, however they structured the rosters they had a limit on how many total fighters there could be. They probably picked a number that seemed like plenty for UFC 1 and just never got around to fixing the architecture to allow more or, better, allow infinite amounts. And that sort of under the hood recoding is probably not happening in a patch.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Re: Offline player support
After Universe mode for me fighter share is by far one of the highest wanted features.
I get why it wouldn't be implemented but it would be incredible, and I loved it in the Fight Night games.
Even the WWE games do it so well, imagine being able to download custom made tattoos and fighters like you can on those games. Or even custom graphics for walk-out shirts.
Sends replayability through the roof. And is great for people like me who have no artistic talent whatsoever.Comment

Re: Offline player support
If the spaces for the CAFs do not increase, for whatever reason, that at least when I save the data on a memory stick, they are linkable, because in previous games, I wanted to put some that I had saved from the game data, and putting it erased the entire list created by CAF, instead of placing itself in the place of the fighter who had swiped, this was a nuisance, because if this could be done, the 22 spaces could be exchanged with hundreds and hundreds if not infinite fighters that we could have created and saved in external memory.Comment

Cool, thanks. If I had to run an update/patch/dlc on every single profile I wouldn't bother.Comment
