You can’t explain that away by blaming it on EA executives.

I’m not saying they wrote the ****ing code or wrote a memo specifically asking for every aspect of the game to be the way it is, but the ones I’m talking about ABSOLUTELY supported the game being the way it was in 3 and it doesn’t take a big brain to see how the gameplay evolved from 3 to the beta for 4. They weren’t going to rework the whole game between 3 and 4.

EVERY SINGLE major problem with the gameplay (in my opinion) is rooted in:

    -unrealistic stamina tuning
    -unrealistic accuracy/damage tuning
    -unrealistic defensive movement and tuning

All of these issues exist in order to keep fights the way the top competitors want them to look and feel. I have watched this transpire.

These things were tuned far superior in the UFC 3 beta. Then the big names got on here and started bitching, and they all got changed to the foundation for what we have now. I WAS THERE. You can blame that on “casuals”. It’s really curious that competitive players and casuals seem to have about an 85% overlap in what they want the game to be like. They diverge when it comes to CAFs in ranked and cosmetic items apparently.
NONE of the GCers are alright with the way stamina was in the beta and ALL of us have mentioned it.

We need to be calm and stick to our respective beliefs about this game respectfully.

The game has problems this we are all in agreement about and we all seemingly have an idea of where this franchise is going at least for it's fourth installment.

We just have to wait and see.

This happens every time. Stamina is a mess at launch and then it gets improved post-release. If all the GCers feel that way then it’s pretty much a guarantee that it will get fixed.

It was particularly bad this time though.
...precision beats power and timing beats speed... and realism beats meta.

          I guess so .

My gripe with the stamina system is the " strikes landed on block not depleting stamina " thingy.

Like I always say if you want to go HAM on your opponent go ahead but by the end of round two if you can't get them out of there ... There should be a serious tax on your stamina . If you want high output fine go ahead . But the stamina management isn't that mindful for most players.

Range is another issue I have with this franchise especially in UFC 3 . I don't like the nipple to nipple phonebooth fighting . aesthetically it doesn't look good to me . In UFC 2 there seemed to be a force field where you couldn't get past to strike an opponent at times . You had to stay at a certain range . It just seems weird to me .I hear strikes & range in UFC 4 was worked on so I hope this improves .

Recovery frames for throwing certain strikes is also something I wonder about. What strikes are safe , what counters are best for punishing at what range ?

Will the magnetic sliding tracking strikes which cover unrealistic distance be changed ? I certainly hope so . If you do a power strike does it over extend you ? Leaving you open to a counter if you miss ?

These are some of the things I will be looking at closely in the coming weeks leading up to release of UFC 4 and beyond.

Oh man, I remember the times when some people on here dead serious prolaimed that if you weren't top 100, your opinion is worthless.
