Why are there still no TKO/Ref stoppages and Ragdoll KO´s after years?

There is a question I have been asking myself since I played Beta:

When UFC 2018 came out, so many people complained that the KO's have deteriorated compared to the previous game. Yes, sometimes the KO's in UFC 2 were a bit exaggerated, but they looked much nicer in the whole, because it was body based and no animations I remember the cry for better KO animations was huge.

Just like for TKO's and Referee Stoppages. I remember when UFC 3 came out, the forums were bombed from people who want back Ragdolls and TKO's.

2 features that have been requested by the players for 2 years continuously over and over. Why can't EA manage to implement these features for the players?

I don't know if one of the developers has ever commented on these topics, but why is it that we still don't have any referee interaction in the 4th UFC game that interfere with TKO? It happens in almost EVERY MMA fight in reallife.
And how is it possible that we have much better knockouts in a game that came out in 2016 (UFC 2) than in a new game in 2020. EA cant tell me that they dont have the ressources for something like that. I'm afraid I have to bring up the comparison with UFC Undisputed 3 again, I'm getting tired of hearing the comparison myself. But they were a studio back then many many years with a with worse technology and far less budget and developers than EA and they also managed to do it

I think with better knockout animations and real TKO's the game would get a lot more replay value and a lot more player would buy it. Both for casual and competitive players.

Now that the Beta is over and the outcry for these features in the forums is so big again, a statement from one of the developers would be really nice.

It would be enough if one of the developers would tell me if they plan to implement these things in the future or not, and if not why not. Because I think every player here wants to see these things back in the game.

This isn't supposed to be a pointless EA Bash. Personally I'm looking forward to the game, but I'm still disappointed by what I've seen so far. I am writing this only because I want a perfect MMA game.

EA made a decision that they do not value realism, and focus primarily on selling those cosmetic items and gear.

Yeah, Ive cancelled my pre-order because of this fact. I actually thought this would be one of the first things EA would have included in UFC4, but obviously not. Just goes to show that they really don't care about this game and now I don't either.

Personally I didn't care that they would reuse a lot of the EA UFC 3 stand-up and assets.

However I am extremely disappointed, that they didn't make those important and logicaly expected additons, that would make the game so much better.

I was expecting small tuning on the stand-up, fixxing up the missed inputs etc. and a couple of new strikes or animations for older strikes(improved hooks etc.) but the major difference I was expecting was much more polish when it comes to Finishing the Fight and adding proper ragdolls/animations and KOs/TKOs etc. since stand-up is what most people like to use.

I was hoping that the analogue sticks would be utilized for moving your head to dodge GNP and also using the Analogue Sticks to aim your strikes when GNPounding someone.

That would make so much more sense, than the unpolished GNP we got.

The new additions in the game, have downgraded and removed so many options we used to have with EA UFC 3 and on top of that, they feel and look unpolised and ridiculous when playing the beta.

Edit: When it comes to the new Clinch System, It was disappointing and felt very one dimensional, when you consider there was no way to instantly initiate a Mauy Thai Clinch and keep someone there(Anderson Silva vs Franklin). I was hoping there would be a way, to pull someone's block down and open them up for a strike on the side you pulled their hand away from their block or smth along those lines.

I also canceled my pre order because of this reason. I also did not here a dev confirm that they are busy with it to patch or fix it. I will wait until they have fixed the finish the fight and ko animations and then buy the game.

I 100% agreed. The new clinch game doesn't feel satisfied. Locomotion is good, transition is way more bad than before. 1 step forward, 3 steps backward. so disappointed.

They are making it unrealistic on purpose. If Geoff has been trying for years without success, we're never going to get a realistic FTF scenario as long as were stuck with EA.

The problem is then we have to start from scratch again and God knows when we'll be able to get the perfect MMA game we dream of. I'll be too old to even play it

That’s because everyone complains but buys the game anyway. Your opinion carries a lot more weigh if you are actually putting your money where you mouth is and refusing to buy the game until something is fixed. If tons of people on-line are spreading the message that the game won’t be bought until TKOs are fixed, that could legitimately have an impact on other consumers and ultimately influence EA to fix it.

Yeah but there is no alternative my friend. I definitely won't be buying this game for anything more than €25.

But that doesn't change the fact that their entire gimmick is making sure there is no competition so they can keep getting away with creating mediocre games, which I always will keep criticizing.

I 100% agree with you. It'd be a lot easier to wash my hands with this series if there was another combat sports alternative out there. We need some competition, even if its Bellator or One FC (or even another K1 or boxing game) in order to get places like EA to wanna one-up the other guy.

Exactly. It sucks because there is no competition for EA. But that a bigger problem than it needs to be because we have proven that we’ll buy the game anyway. Not buying the game hurts them the same as if we bought an alternative game instead.

There not being an alternative only has influence because we buy the game. Hold out, make your reason for holding out known, and encourage others to do the same. It beats people making 1000 threads about how “EA suck for not adding TKOs in 4 iterations”. Why not spend that energy encouraging others to not buy the game until it’s patched in?

EA should look at their comments on IG and Facebook, this is from both the official UFC account and easportsufc account. They got very bad feedback literally everyone even casuals thinks knockouts and TKO are terrible. The graphics are another big complaint as well, and the punches are clunky and robotic.
