    Re: AI Logic

The AI seems insanely good at securing joint submissions and insanely bad at securing choke submissions. This is something I've noticed from hard difficulty all the way up to legendary.

I've been tapped by the AI a number of times via joint submissions, but it's never even come close with choke submissions. You can just flick and hold the stick up-left and down-right (or vice versa), and the AI will just slowly chase your bar around the circle and never come close to finishing.

Don't know if this has anything to do with AI logic, or if it's just how the respective submission games are tuned.

I noticed this as well but the AI also sucks at defending choke subs. It's extremely easy to get a sub with the first choke you apply early in the fight.

Played some on hard and biggest thing I noticed is the ai has an uncanny ability to perfectly judge distance. Manage to be just too far away, but close enough that they appear in range so you whiff. They will back up if you push forward or circle just out of reach making it very difficult to engage them on your terms. Then, if you do manage to get close enough, you have to deal with psychic counters and blocking or they just side hop out of the way. Just all in all, very difficult to get any sustained offense. If I bump it down a difficulty, it’s way too easy and they get hit by seemingly everything.

It’s really difficult to get any offense going because they’ll counter you perfectly almost every time. It’s very pronounced if you’re at a reach disadvantage, very hard to get in to do anything because they can stay just out of reach and hit perfect counters if you do manage to get in. I see I’m not the only one seeing this issue.
This is still a massive problem, especially on legendary. The AI more or less fights the exact same at that difficulty (extremely counter heavy). It would be tolerable if the AI didn't cheat when it made a mistake and I was able to punish it for doing so. But as you said, you can't. They almost always get recover at speeds the player can't, I've seen the AI whiff a body front kick and then throw a straight as I throwing my own straight to counter, without any of the delay a human player would experience. It turns the game from being fun to frustrating.

The AI cannot do anything the player can't. It gives controller inputs same as the user. That's all there is to it. It sometimes knows more about the timing windows that users might, but it cannot cheat.

I'm not talking about the inputs, I'm talking about the recovery times on whiffs and blocks basically being optional for the AI.

I understand what you mean. Im playing hard ai and it feels like no matter who I play (striker or grappler) the ai counter striking is fast and accurate. It feels like the ai doesn't really take what I dish out and then reset...it feels like there is ALWAYS a counter that comes flying right out (many times before im even done throwing a 3 piece) and it almost always lands.

I still can't stop takedowns w/o pre-denial either. If hard ai shoots...forget it, im on my back.

I've been getting a little better with what I mentioned above. But I have noticed some AI seems off.

I just played 3 event mode matches against Khabib on Pro difficulty. I lost in 4 rds by tko, lost again in 4 rds by TKO and won a 5 round UD 49-46.

Khabib had 0 TD attempt in 13 rounds.

Skynet, even on legendary the AI seems unable to deny the transition from side control to crucifix. That makes it too easy to exploit.
