How the hell did we end up with the same awful KOs from UFC3????

I just cant wrap my head around this............I distinctly remember people complaining about how awful the UFC 3 KO animations were and how we wanted the ragdoll KOs from UFC 2 back. I remember it was brought up frequently, several times a day, you couldnt scroll down the first page and not see a topic about ragdoll knockouts. Hell, you didnt even have to scroll at all, there was usually a topic at the top of the page pertaining to ragdoll animations.

I remember everybody bugging GPD about it and eventually he said he would look into it as far as patching it in to UFC towards the end of the cycle.....I remember him saying that he couldnt make any guarantees but he would at least try to get them in. Eventually we were told that they were shifting focus to the development of UFC 4 so ragdoll KOs were not going to be added to UFC 3, which was disappointing to hear at the time bit we also understood that the development of the next UFC game had more priority than supporting a game that was towards the end of its life cycle. I completely understood.....wasnt what we wanted to hear but at least it was explained why they wouldnt be added in.

Now one would think as much as we blew up the message boards with topics and messages about ragdoll KOs, one would assume that they would be in UFC 4 from the get go, right??? Right?!??!? After all of that, we are still stuck with the exact same KO animations from UFC 3, those awful animations that everybody complained about for months and months and months, which now equates to years.......we have been complaining literally for years now about how bad the knockouts look in UFC 3 and so their response is to put the EXACT same knockouts that we all hate, back in the brand new game???????

Personally, I don't want to bring back UFC2's ragdoll. It's totally unrealistic. I really really don't want to see backflip ko from ufc2 again. It makes the game more arcady. But the fact that these ko animations from ufc3 to ufc4 look awful , too.

But the problem is, with the KOs from UFC 2, SOME of the KOs look bad, like 1 out of 6. But in UFC 3 and now UFC 4, they ALL look terrible. Which is the lesser of 2 evils; having some awful looking knockouts or having every single knockout look bad???

Like others said, I can tolerate the occasional silly ragdoll if it means we get knockouts that actually feel rewarding. When I manage to sidestep a superman punch and land an expertly timed counter it's pretty crushing to see the exact same knockout as if I'd just finished with any other strike.

The backflip ko's are better than what we have now. A lot of the animation ko's are unrealistic.

The canned animation ko's make the game look more arcade like than ragdoll ko's. Arcade fighting games use canned animations for ko's. A sim fighting game needs ragdoll ko's to more closely mimicking a unconcious body falling to the ground.

How the hell we end up with the same ground game and ignored wishlist 4 games in. The only way to fix the canned animations problem is for ea to use euphoria.

Yeah I’m in agreement with most others. UFC 2 had a tendency to have some odd knockouts every now and then (usually from spinning headlock knockouts in my experience), but most KOs were very satisfying and well varied. The current KOs are very Arcadey

yea theses knockouts look bad if they fix them I can deal with everything else and I will buy this game at full price but if not I can wait for a sale or just pass altogether I liked the rag doll Kos in ufc 2 but they were too loose with the backflips and noodle arms if they can tune them to not do that knockouts would be much more satisfying. Just looking at these slow robotic Kos it makes me wonder did the developers listen to anything the community said? I understand they want to appeal to causal fans and bring new players in but better knockouts would benefit all players but no you guys can't have better knockouts so heres a bear head and some stupid emotes

Absolutely right and there was definitely some bad ones here and there but, why scrap ragdolls completely? Why would they not use this time, since the overwhelming majority wanted the ragdoll knockouts back in the game, why not use that 2.5 year development time and fine tune the system we had in place in UFC 2, and put it in UFC 4? I think that's where the growing frustration lies, all this time they had between games, and other than a completely revamped clinching and takedown system, theres not much of anything else to look forward to. What else do we have to look forward to?? I actually think the new submission system is worse, if you believe that's even possible, and just as bad as UFC 3 at the very least. A handful of new fighters to try out that werent in any of the other games, some new commentary, new career mode, which I will not knock just yet because it might actually end up being decent, I havent tried it yet so I want to give it a chance first.

That's really about the extent of it though.......a new career mode, but seeing those EXACT same knockouts that we have been watching for 2 and a half years now.......that's just going to kill it for me. No matter how good the new career mode may or may not be, still going to have to watch those lame KOs which is going to kill any enthusiasm I have for the game.

As a casual fan, I’m not interested in ragdoll knockouts. I watch UFC for the fluidity of the clinch work.

Actually I don’t watch the UFC at all, but for some reason EA thinks they can convince me to buy the game so here I am.

LMAO, EA logic in a nutshell.

If i take you back to a quote from a month ago:

Now before you all start jumping on me vehemently, im not trying to **** on what Geoff has done for the game and the discussions he allowed us to have with him when EA UFC 3 was being developed ; but what exactly in the statement about Ragdoll just got a massive upgrade was actually true. It still looks very similar to EA UFC 3 which the less i say about the better & this statment is way, way off the mark for so many reasons.

The theme of ufc 4 is disappointed. It looked terrible in the trailers and now you see it and it’s just deflating. Here’s hoping we get a new development team next game. Whoever is calling the shots seems to have no clue how to advance the series in the right direction.

Block and head movement are totally broken but hey here’s a new terrible way to deny tds and a completely different clinch. The one thing the clinch had was the grappling translated. Now we have 3 totally distinct games mushed together as one... it feels like they worked on the clinch like 75% and then rushed to make it fit the rest.

We completely lost UT and then they add caf to ranked which literally nobody wanted. I mean the choices here are just mind boggling.
