Upload your Universe mode
Upload your Universe mode. I just created a new one for UFC 4. It has a pretty good ranking system that I put a ton of thought and time into.

Re: Upload your Universe mode
This looks great! any update for the women's division or did I miss it? I definitely think I will be using this if I decide to get the game! -
Re: Upload your Universe mode
I have to update with a tab for the women's division and update the roster when I know the whole list.
That will be a breeze though, and I'll hit this thread back up when I have that finished.Comment

Thanks, means a lot after all the hard work I put into the logic of the ranking system, and everything else. Glad to know at least a few will get some use out of all of this work.

Re: Upload your Universe mode
This is a great middle ground between a basic Excel and the complicated as hell system I have for WMMA5.Comment

Re: Upload your Universe mode
I did manage to dig up an old Universe spreadsheet for UFC 3 that looks pretty killer too. I may try to update that one with the UFC 4 roster too. I bumped it in the MMA section where it was posted, if anyone wants to take a look over there.Comment

Re: Upload your Universe mode
It won't let me open the fileYeah, that's exactly what I was trying to accomplish with this. I personally don't want to get too bogged down into managing a spreadsheet. I basically want the fighting itself to be as much of the center of the experience as possible.

Re: Upload your Universe mode
I tried PMing but that doesn't give me the option to attach a file.
I could email it to you if you want to PM your email, unless that's against TOS or something.Comment

Re: Upload your Universe mode
Yeah, what I mean for that one is:
They don't have to be back to back from the Champ's perspective. Just a fighter losing two title fights to the same fighter, without a title fight win against him in between.
For the other question, lower ranking fighters take the rank of the person they defeat. So, a rank 8 beating a rank 6 would move into the rank 6 spot. The loser would be bumped down according to table 1 in the sheet.
When higher ranking fighters beat lower ranking fighters, they don't move up.
There were a couple of reasons for this, one being that I only wanted fighters taking those higher rank spots if they actually beat those higher ranked fighters.
It also created other problems, where a rank 2 could beat a lower ranked fighter and become a #1 contender, bumping the existing #1 contender down, who may have been on quite a streak himself to get to that #1 position and keep it.
Also, it generally ignored the win streaks that fighters ranked above them tended to be on to keep those ranks. These higher ranked fighters on win streaks were moving down a rank, when the guy below them only won a single fight, against a lower ranked opponent no less.
So, it really just worked 10x better this way.Last edited by NoSUB Clinch Options; 08-02-2020, 08:06 AM.Comment
