Body Shots not Depleting Opponent's Stamina?

I have played probably 20 matches now and it appears that body shots do not deplete your opponent's stamina. Is it intended to be this way, or is it something that is going to be fixed on the day one patch? Every boxing/mma game I can remember used working the body and taxing stamina as a feature and a viable strategy. It just seems odd that this would not still be case, especially since it is a common strat irl.

I have to disagree. I fought pettis with Dan hooker and I absolutely brutalized his body in the clinch with knees and punches. By the third round he was gassed and couldn’t do anything. He literally just backed up and tried not to get knocked out for the rest of the fight

I'm someone who would always win in ufc 3 by avoiding big shots and hitting the body the first round or two and would have my opponent gas out sooo bad. In UFC 4 I hit the body like 20-50 times the first two rounds and opponent still has almost full stamina the 3rd round.

I really like the high-vulnerability, 'critical' body shots. All it takes is one and you can really turn the tide of a fight just like real life.

Sometimes though I feel that non-critical body work isn't rewarded as much as it could be.

i.e. I'll land several non-critical hooks to the liver, knees, and straights ... and yea it does a bit of damage, but doesn't seem to add up very much (unless you get a body stun/critical).

Seems All or Nothing ... idk I probably need to play more before I can really give a solid opinion. Body work can definitely pay off though

P.S. I know it pays to target the liver, as well as the Open side of your oppponent....

but does anyone know if cumulative body damage adds up on a section of the body???

If so that'd be awesome and could change things, but I never heard confirmation.

Landing 10 hooks to the Liver would pay off way more than landing 5 hooks to the liver, and 5 hooks to the other side of the body, for example.

This is applied to legs (R Leg Health vs. L Leg Health) ... would be cool if it applied to Body and Head.

Keep targeting a broken rib or a busted eye = damage bonus/etc.

          Patch?

I love how we get stamina and damage to a community accepted place and then just throw it out the window next game.

Yeah, I have for sure gotten some sweet body TKO's with a well timed shot. It just seems that consistent body work with no health events doesn't drain stamina as much as it did in UFC 3

Played as Sandhagen last night ... huge reach; 5-star Lead Body Hook ... I was able to do a decent amount of consistent/cumulative body work, but really had to throw a lot of body roundhouses and knees to make it truly effective.

Definitely a viable tactic but agree, 'mundane' body shots could use a bit more OOMPH...especially once you land 10, 11, 12 of them to the same spot.
