A Few Key Tweaks For Greatness!

    1) Clinch Strikes and Ground N Pound are a little bit too fast and encourage 'intelligent' button mashing ... scale back the crazy speed of strikes in these positions (especially the 3rd/4th/5th strikes), and slightly increase perm stamina drain for spamming.

I'm really liking where the new Clinch & GNP are heading ... not there quite yet though.

    2) Stamina .... yes yes, the good ole stamina complaint. But I'm taking a little different perspective here:

I feel that the stamina BARS actually go down at a pretty respectable rate! It's just that the fighter's speed/power/accuracy/footwork don't reflect it!

A fighter can be at 60% stamina in the 2nd round if they are being reckless .... which is good to see ... but I swear, their fighter is still throwing bombs, fast and accurate as hell! ...

    3) One Weight Class Ranked. For the love of God please remove this

I can deal w/ CAFs ... I can deal with seeing your opponent and his pick (I don't like it though) ... but only one weight class per day??? Comeon man!!!

Sure, it helps with matchmaking ... all online players funneled into one pool ... and one positive is that it forces people to use other weight classes/fighters ....

but one weight class per day? This has to be changed man lol Can we at least get 3 to choose from per day or something

Cuz I will almost never be playing Ranked on the day there is a Flyweight or lower class .... the spam is real, lol I mean I'll give it a try but it'll be lame, I hate using those tiny people

I actually like the GnP mix up and the speed of the strikes. But i do think the defender needs more tools to deal with it. Maybe increase the frequency of sweeps/getups from a successful sway? So if the attacker spams too much, you just have to time a sway to getup.

Stamina is almost there. I think another slight nerf to long term stamina from strikes thrown is needed.

One weight class per day is brutal. They should make it rotate every 4 or 8 hours. That would be at least 3 different weight classes each day.
    Lineup:
    PG) Gary Payton
    SG) '95-'96 Michael Jordan
    SF) Sapphire Scottie Pippen
    PF) '95-'96 Dennis Rodman
    C) Hakeem Olajuwon

I really love the sweeps/etc. when you defend GnP well. I think my main issue w/ GnP specifically is the Queue system.

I want strikes to be very responsive and as real time as possible.

Queuing up 4 or 5 GnP strikes.....yes there is a strategy to it, but it's sort of 'intelligent button mashing' ... I want the emphasis to be using reactions on OFFENSE, seeing how the defender is reacting and striking as such.

I'm trying to play that way just b/c it may be more effective than queue in the long run ... maybe ... but based on ESFL card last night, button mash queue of a nice mix-up of hook and straight, left and right, seems almost unstoppable.

Great idea on the 8-hour timer for weight class ... I'd be all about that. Maybe even a 4-hour timer or hell, 1-hour timer!

The ground n pound mini game is almost as bad as the new submission game. Mobile one direction assisted grappling controls completely neutered what they could have done with the ground game. Add to your list, these new denial windows need major adjustments all around. Why do I hate the hip bump animation that precedes recovering half-guard while mounted? Just weird choices everywhere. It will take far more than a few tweaks to reach greatness.

I get what you're saying here. It would definitely make the ground and pound more strategy based. As long as they keep the ability to truly finish the fight on the ground. That's what i love about the GnP.

A lot of top players have mentioned this and i tend to agree: the posture up denial window is too small. If they increase the denial for that, then it'll be harder for guys to rain down GnP so often. I'm more in favor of that to be honest.

Oh that's why I couldn't deny a posture up transition to save my life, I was confused

Re: A Few Key Tweaks For Greatness!

I spent alot of time in practice mode working on the clinch and I dont think im getting it. I seem to get dominated whenever I'm caught in it.

I think we need some legacy controls when it come to the clinch up against the cage. I loathe the fact I can't slow down the rock em sock em clinch pace. When I have my back to the cage I cant do a GD thing (im sure its because im not comfortable with the controls and I still dont know them) but c'mon....we can't have a pummeling battle? It happens all the time. Now I feel like I get backed up and all I can do is throw rabbit punches and try to wiggle my way out of the clinch with my stick. I should be able to work for over/under and double under. I should be able to swing my opponent and put his back to the cage like we had in 3. I hate cage work clinch.

If im just whining about all this because I dont know how to do it and its actually there in game and available for us do, can someone please guide me to a guide or tutorial because ive looked everywhere and still come up not knowing what to do in that position.

                  Clinch is tricky.

Head Movement, Foot Movement, and hooks/uppercuts will keep your opponent from securing a clinch.

If he does get the clinch, just back-up and you will break (eventually....based on stam and stats)

If you're near the cage you're kind of in trouble. But if he has you against the cage, push the Left stick either UP or DOWN ... Away fromhis underhook ... and you will break free.

Clinch striking is a bit herky jerky but hoping they'll tone it down a bit and smooth it out.
