    UFC 4 roster analysis

Broke down the roster into some statistics. Thought it would be interesting and it was. Please note, I did the counting myself and I’m human so could be slightly off, but the overall picture should be pretty accurate.

-57 (35%) currently ranked fighters are missing.

-22 (38%) of missing currently ranked fighters have been ranked for 18+ months

-19 (8%) fighters on the roster are retired

-5 (2%) are not MMA fighters

-18 (8%) are not longer on the roster

-Of currently announced upcoming bouts, 10/75 (13%) fights can actually be done in game.

-Of currently announced upcoming bouts, 35/150 (23%) of fighters are playable.

-182/652 (28%) of total fighters currently in the UFC are playable

-20/57 (35%) of Heavyweight fighters are playable

-14/48 (29%) of Light Heavyweight fighters are playable

-19/63 (30%) of Middleweight fighters are playable

-29/98 (29%) of Welterweight fighters are playable

-23/85 (27%) of Lightweight fighters are playable

-17/81 (21%) of Featherweight fighters are playable

-21/83 (25%) of Bantamweight fighters are playable

-7/27 (26%) of Flyweight fighters are playable

-9/32 (28%) of Women’s Bantamweight fighters are playable

-9/42 (21%) of Women’s Flyweight fighters are playable

-14/36 (39%) of Women’s Strawweight fighters are playable

Agreed. When you start looking at the actual numbers, it starts to look really bad for EA. Why on earth there are non-MMA fighters in the game *smh*. I'd rather have x 2 extra legit fighters added instead. I don't want to moan and whatever as this is just a game but...the numbers look bad. There is a decent amount of time between UFC3 to now to get more fighters added. I'd like to know the % of new active fighters added (excluding non-MMA).

Thanks for your effort here. It's interesting to view the roster in the way you've presented the stats.

To be completely fair to the devs, probably about half of the roster either has few fights, is inactive, is on a losing streak, or is in danger of being cut. However, there’s probably easily 100+ fighters that would make for solid additions.

Well they only added 19 new active MMA fighters, so about 8% of the roster. They removed 58 fighters (most of which aren’t with the company anymore) from the previous entry.

Yeah they really dropped the ball on rosters. The most damning stat to me is guys who have been ranked 18+ months. Most of them should’ve been in.

So did they abandon the fight picks from 2&3 with this shallow roster this game?

Thanks for breaking it down. Pure craziness man. Pure craziness. Knowing full well they aren't gonna come close to even 50% of the actual roster, why not at least give us a butt load of caf slots so we dont have to play this switching profiles game. This is a huge letdown. Lets not even talk about some of this whacky gameplay.....no options with your back to the cage or sub clinch....straight up ridiculous.

This really is a huge letdown. Could you imagine if madden released a game and only 28% of the teams in the NFL were playable??? It’s clear EA doesn’t see this as a sports game. They view it as an arcade fighter skinned as UFC
