Idk if anyone has mentioned this or even noticed it. But on easy and normal difficulty in career if ur opponent shoots for a power double and u dont deny it, they will pick u up and just hold u in the air and dont move and after a few seconds they let go and u just land on ur feet and continue fighting. Idk if thats a bug or something that just needs to be tune

Rivalry system is definitely better (thought in 3 it was simply horrendous) but pointless as there's no callout system. So you got rivals and "interact" with them. You just... don't get to fight them. Genius, EA... Befriending them - basically just getting a discount - is equally pointless, because whether you win or go 0-10, you have a metric ton of money to pay for it.
Worst part of this for me is if you win the fight vs your rival it seems it's over instantly with no more interaction. I've never in any of my times playing had to rematch the champ I took the belt from.
You'd think the former champ would get a rematch for the belt, specially when they were my rival to boot.

Re: Career mode thread-List your Bugs and improvements needed here!
Played another session and boy, where to begin...
1. LVL5 Muay thai training seems bugged. At a certain point the target would be to use Thompson's special moves that you are supposed to borrow for the session... except you don't, making it impossible to complete.
2. Out of nowhere, without learning any move, I received a LVL5 front kick (L2+R1+X I think). That's what it said on the move screen. After training, it was apparently LVL0, which is just... not supposed to happen.
3. The rivalry system is just terribly flawed. From all the people who beat me in my career, several I just can't find (must've retired). There's no way at all to reach them, call them out. A loss, if rare, should trigger a rivalry by default. Right now, the system is inherently passive, where you can do nothing but respond. Your respons is almost meaningless as you're still at the mercy of the matchmakers, who rarely seem to match you up. If you refuse, it's being frowned upon by the game and it impacts your career quite negatively as well.
4. A fighter who was 12-12 when I beat them at rank 8, suddenly was rank 3 at... 12-15 (!?). Do they just get random numbers assigned to them? Maybe the entire top10 retired or something, which usually happens quietly apart from the occassional message.
5. At the top of the WFA, I ended up fighting 5* opponents. It was a big test and I suffered some losses. I was pumped that I'd have to work to get to the top of the UFC for sure. Until I lost my title and was called up to UFC. Then I fought a bunch of cans there at rank 10-12, and honestly had no trouble getting the title from some 4* fighters, who really were way easier than the WFA's top fighters. And I barely progressed since then as I had to use points to heal the injuries of the insane boxer AI during training, who seems like your biggest rival as they strive only to KO you. The "endgame" felt like a joke, and left me wanting to rematch with the current WFA champion, who totally destroyed me. But no, I was UFC champion, left without any challenges... This is obviously horrendous design for a career mode.
6. In the women's career mode, Jessica Eye can "learn" you a move that every fighter template already starts with, which is just laughable really. Just delete this ffs, or make it the LVL3 of the move or something usable.
The immense loading times of the menu screens is quite unsettling too. I'm having trouble figuring out why. There's not a huge algorithm behind going to the next training week. This game is notorious for its clunky menus, especially UT last game, which was almost unbearable to navigate through with its slow inputs. This time it's not much better. When you press a button, it sometimes takes seconds for the game to respond. Sometimes you press the button again and open menus you're not supposed to open, and before jumping to the next screen you get a clunky mess of a screen that molds two interfaces in one. It's quite embarrassing.
Sure, it's a big step up from last game, but far from what it could've been.
I'm sure I've missed a couple of bugs as I didn't exactly write it all down yesterday.Last edited by Blackman316; 08-25-2020, 01:42 PM.Comment

If you play as a female fighter there's no way to learn shoulder locks. None of the fighters teach them.
So if you don't play as a BJJ fighter type, you'll never get them. My strawweight's a wrestler with good submissions...who'll never be able to learn an Americana or Kimura.Comment

They should give it to Jessica Eye then and give her presence some meaning. This is a simple fix that probably takes them 2 minutes to implement. Don't know if anyone plans to report all of this? I don't have reddit/discord and there's no clear instructions on where to post.If you play as a female fighter there's no way to learn shoulder locks. None of the fighters teach them.
