Allowing players to go for infinite attempts without a stamina penalty is insane and leads to wildly unrealistic play. Can't believe this is something that still needs to be patched.
Because the sequel is still developed by the same team, with Jeff left the team(who believes his broken physics engine should decide players input command over players themselves) now this game is slightly better, but the team still adopted the same donkey philosophy.

They believe defender should work harder to fence off spamable offense attempt while all the risks are on defenders side. which made all spamming offense attempts with no worries & no risks

The problem with clinch isn't just damage and superior position.

    1. it has no deny, that's utterly wrong in the first place 2. it can easily transit into other cheesy position such as piggy back, stand up guillotine etc with very little effort.

Dev of UFC games got the balance philosophy the completely opposite, offenders of sub & take downs should work harder/smarter, time it better to get it. and should have something to lose(say stamina and body part duration tax) when attempt failed. But now, these moves don't take more than 2 brain cells to execute and have no risk mechanic whatsoever to prevent them from using over and over.

No matter how good you are, these moves are extremely hard to fence off and very risky if you got into one.

Put your back on the cage, yes, the place where you can't block body knees. Now start by holding high block and moving towards the wizard side (the side that is closed off). Your opponent now has 2 options, go for a takedown which you can react to and deny by simple applying LT, or the second option (which is 90% about to come) which is throw unblockable body knees. The moment they start the body knees, you can slip out the closed side instantly if you let go of high block and are moving towards the closed side. Again, your instinct is going to tell you to walk toward the open side. While this will eventually get you out, you will take knees to to body in the process. So let go of high block (doesn't matter if you apply low block or just let go of RT) and move towards the closed side. You will slip out without the body knee even coming out or landing. With all this being said, don't forget to not get standing guillotined lol. Hope this helps mitigate some damage so you have more time to dish out your own damage.

But it'll be worth it when its $10 and has about 8 patches. Also saves me all the headaches of playing a broken and incomplete game.
I’ve played every game since the original UFC undisputed and still haven’t bought this due to how lame and broken it sounds

I think as stages of progression in the submission advance, your stamina should drain as the attacker based on your stamina and the stamina of the opponent and how well they are defending (the defender should lose stamina too). You should absolutely be able to cancel out of a submission attempt at any point, thus making it a strategic endeavor. You go for locking in the submission but risk tiring yourself out if the situation isn’t right. The entire submission game needs a lot of work tbh.

You can only rock people from the frame if they are already hurt.

They should bring back knees to frame and rocks. Also td options.
