You would've thought parrying was as easy as throwing a punch if you were to base it on UFC 1. Couldn't you even parry head kicks like swatting away a fly. Lmao, I second the PTSD comment. People were fighting with no parry house rules because of how silly it was.

Those body knees looked good. We definitely need to see those return.

Also, I'd wish they'd bring back the online profiles from the first two games. It was cool to see stats like strikes per round, sub and takedown attempts, etc. Having more statistics, in general, would be great.

Hoe can parrying be done properly? Possibly a parry limit given how many you may have just used?

Maybe have the block a certain side button like in UFC 1, but way more perfect blocks, and way less parry animations.

It can be done i feel

Also, Properly framing a Hook on defense should stall the flurry. As of now, the attacker can rain down and it’s very difficult to time a frame and not get hit from the next punch.

Attempting to frame is more risky than the reward is worth.

GNP in UFC 1 was by far more scary. This gnp while okay, isnt as threatning. UFC 1 even had TKOs without going unconcious

Oh it can most certainly be done, we just haven't seen what a good parrying system would look like yet. I think it'll happen at some point.

I know a lot of people are in favor of only straight punches being able to be parried. I'm in that camp too. That alone would make it better than UFC 1. I also think the timing window should be very small, and we shouldn't ever be locked into a frozen state.

There have been a lot of smart suggestions around here over the years, and I know the devs are capable of executing it eventually.

Straights and jabs to the face and body, and teeps to the body should be parriable lol.

Those keep fighters at distance and wouldnt allow for ridiculous striking advantages off the counter due to the distance they are parried from.

I would also say no in close parrying at all. That animation could be a "rolling with the punch one" or just be a block that you can quickly strike from after wards.

The reality of it, there are a lot of things about the sport that would translate horribly into video games, and I think parrying (at least in the current state we saw in UFC 2), was one of those horrible translations. The current striking system is so much better without parrying (UFC3). I think this is a system they should think long and hard about before returning it. It was imperfect in UFC 2 and greatly favored fighters that had crazy power.

It can be gone, but like we've seen with the clinch spam, its going to get more than one game cycle to get a fair system.

It makes no sense to claim something should never be implemented because people exploit it.

If it was "way too easy," why couldn't it be re-implemented and given a smaller margin of error?

What I really meant was it should never come back in the fashion in which it was in UFC 2. Of course it could be remade, but OP just made a blanket statement that it should come back.
