The main reason Finish the Fight has always looked bad in the series

The fighter that got KOed is nice enough to become conscious again and position himself for a canned animation. This is the centerpiece of all that is wrong with the KOs in the series.

This doesn't just make Finish the Fight look bad, it makes KO physics look bad. Its been stated by devs that the KOed fighters are part ragdoll part actively trying to land in a position that is convenient for Finish the Fight animations. This leads to very similar looking KOs and prevents the KO physics from reaching its full potential.

So this current system makes Finish the Fight look weird due to unconscious fighters snapping into pre-made animations, and it messes with the actual KO physics.

Bottom line is, we need a new Finish the Fight system that only involves the still conscious fighter having animations, while the KOed fighter stays KOed and reacts purely from physics, no animation.

I don't know if this is possible via updates down the road or if we have to wait until EA UFC 5 (if it gets made) but regardless the current system needs to go. It has been in the series for too long and simply does not look or feel good.

Devs should be ashamed of themselves. But they aren't.
This is a real problem since UFC 3. It looks like a PS2 game honestly.

All I can say to that, is that PS3's UFC Undisputed 3, undisputedly has much more immersive/responsive/satisfying Finish the fight sequences compared to any EA SPORTS UFC game of the PS4 Gen.

Only thing that EA has come close to competing with that game's Finish The Fight Sequences, was EA UFC 2's KO Physics. Overall they weren't better or more realistic, but they were unique, they were fun and they felt like the next-gen leap we ought to expect.

Then they completely scrapped it, instead of working on it and we got some worse than Undisputed 3, canned animation/finish the fight sequences, that are not responsive whatsoever.

Man....go back and look at UFC: Tapout or UFC: Sudden Impact.

The GnP ko's today aren't that far off from what we saw then, where every GnP sitch ends with the player on the bottom going completely limp, arms spread out like they're about to get crucified...c'mon man.

I know that getting casuals on board is necessary for this franchise to continue and thats all well and good. I just believe somewhere deep down these dudes are capable of bringing us so much more but they are getting their hands tied.

Wow.......you are not even wrong. The same weird abrupt ending after one shot hits the bottom fighters block.

They’re missing half of the excitement by having no ref jumping in animations. Half the fun in a tko should be the ref tackling you, grabbing your hand to stop, baseball sliding in waving it off.

What made the devs think ko’s appeal more to newbies if they’ve never seen a real tko system? Everyone love more animations
