Re: Spoilers for Patch 4.06
Any chance that UFC will get a PS5 update like Madden? I'm not looking for new gameplay features, just wondering if we might get any performance updates. I'd specifically like to see something done with vibration because not feeling those strike impacts makes a big difference.Comment

they were *sometimes* over the top, but usually not. UFC 2 ragdolls were overall better. Not perfect, but better.Comment

Also not a dev obviously, but from a dev standpoint, why would you do this? It might result in a small boost of sales, but the "wow"-effect of the next game will be gone, and you might lose more revenue.
And contrary to what some people think the devs don't owe us a "next gen upgrade" at all. This has rarely happened in the past and just depends on the sheer goodwill.Comment

I don't understand the OWC weight division change. Not being able to choose which division you get is a downgrade from the previous system because at least with that you can choose not to play if there is an unenjoyable weightlcass (e.g women's flyweight).¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comment

Give us the three weight class options at a time, but allow us to choose how many of the three we want to search for.Comment

Not serious about this, but what are the chances one could apply for a refund based on the grounds that EA deleted content available in the vanilla version?
Suppose I was a relative of Waterson or a superfan and bought the game just to play as her likeness. I'm not, and I didn't, but what if I did? I haven't watched her fights in years and know her with her short hair. The 'updated' model doesn't quite look like her imho. I bought a game where she appears the way I remember her.
I know it sounds petty and silly, but the demo/trial had certain characters present. Now these assets are changed, which I assume is a first in, well, videogame history. Afaik no company has ever flat out deleted content. This smells like false advertisement. And since there's no way for me to roll back to a previous version afaik, what's there to do? Generally, devs ADD stuff, FIX bugs and only change stuff if there's a platform on online game forums etc. The WWE games have versions of characters, like Kane '00, Kane '03 and unmasked Kane, so people can choose.
Same thing with tattoo's and gear changes. It might look insignificant but these things might play into determining a purchase. Gameplay changes are debatable, but usually improve things for most of the player base.
They did it before with Rousey in UFC3. Suddenly her model got replaced with one that only had a champion-version of the UFC gear, which meant my leagues/tournaments got stuck with awkward gear pairings (champ vs champ).Last edited by Blackman316; 12-19-2020, 07:02 PM.Comment

Has it been explained why 5 round fights are only at Div 16 and above?Comment

Also sports video games make likeness changes all the time. EA does it with Fifa. 2k does it with NBA2k. Sony does it with the Show.
They arent considered deletions. They are likeness changes. The fighter is still there and still useable. Now you may not like the change but that doesnt mean you are justified to get your money back because of a likeness change.Comment

I literaly mentioned I didn't. It was just an exercise in legislation, I guess. Aholbert makes some valid points, I guess.
As I mentioned in another thread, I'm just slightly pissed off (more like dumbfounded) her hairstyle has disappeared from the game, for no reason whatsoever. I liked that style as it was different. Would be nice to see it used by random CaF's in career. When I'm doing a female career run, they all seem to look the same.Comment

Re: Spoilers for Patch 4.06
We may have to keep waiting on that. There doesnt seem to be a big enough demand for people to change this. For example, there are 10-12 GCs and only 3 of us REALLY care about the issue. Everyone is in support and think the devs should take the time to fix this issue but me and like 2 people are the only ones behind the scenes who are regularly complaining about this.
Its alot of work to fix and I'm not super optimistic that EA thinks its a good use of time to fix this issue. This isnt from the devs but I get the feeling that it would be easier for them to just add more prototypes than actually put in the work that it will take to add editing.
I hope I'm wrong though.
But what about simply being able to assign moves and change the star rating of the moves? The screen already exists, which I suspect is the difficulty in allowing us to edit stats (they literally took those portions of the game out).
With more prototypes and allowing us to do this, it's a decent give back considering the blind spot that occurred on this one.

I have no idea the difficulty of execution, considering I would have thought simply allowing us to edit stats might be easy enough.

While the screen exists, you still have to add functionality to that so you can change the moves and start rating. You also need to build a function that keeps the edited CAFs out of online (which I assume is the big reason its not in the game yet).Comment

I dont know but the safe way to analyze this game is to assume NOTHING is easy.

Can they just not blow anything up this time? That seems to be my biggest disappointment game-over-game. They "re-invent" something and it's usually kinda cool, but we lose basic quality of life functions from the previous version that make everyone question if it was worth it.
This happened with the clinch and CAF system in UFC 4. Maybe the highest elements of both these things is better, but the worst parts of it, the floor got lowered.
We made things easier to use while sacrificing the depth. Can we focus on building the depth out for the next game, even if means we dont get anything shiny?
