It's a decent game if you like multiplayer, but offline modes were (and are) clearly an afterthought. So if you like multiplayer, sure, pick it up. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.

Re: Should I buy the game now?
No, i don't know what these guys are talking about but the patch just made this game dog crap. head movement is now too risky against a good opponent, leg kicks are way overpowered. Now it is just a stand up straight at distance and trade head combo into leg kicks ad nauseam. It is hot garbage imo. If you want to pretend to play legit with a friend than it is probably fun but if you try and compete online it is just an exploit fest against any decent player.
If you intend to stay at the lowest levels of online play, listen to this man. If you don’t want to make strives to get a good grasp on all the game concepts and mechanics, don’t bother buying. You will get bodied by easy to counter combos and feel lost against almost everyone.

Re: Should I buy the game now?
Absolutely..... Not. Unless you enjoy constant combo barrages with no cardio tax or when they have the stamina blinking the fact they can move backwards fast af and throw punches with enough power to sleep you. I'm actually just redownloading three atm. Its way more balanced and doesn't cater to constant spam. This game is ufc 1 levels of toxicity online. People are either spamming or point fighting. The subs have been absolutely destroyed now to where 2% of players can actually hit one. The judging is absolutely horrid. It's honestly not worth it. Another few months it'll be free on ea play probably because it's just bad...Comment

Re: Should I buy the game now?
No, not unless you can get it for 15$ or under, it is simply a terrible game. Save your money for other things or buy a different game, ufc 4 is NOT an accurate representation of mma in the slightest.
Can you even get double under hooks in the clinch yet? Or is one of the most common positions you see in mma still out of the game because “it isn’t fun to play like dat”Last edited by BigSmoke; 02-16-2021, 01:10 PM.Comment

Re: Should I buy the game now?
Just play it offline. In every competitive game that undergoes constant change, you see this happening: the metagame changes, people complain because their win ratio suffers or their style is no longer adequate. Not saying not to listen to them, but it's normal.
The core game is still good. Some features got stripped, so it's definitely not a strictly better game. Graphics have remained the same. If you haven't bought it by now, just wait for the inevitable price drop. As an offline player, I don't think the offline part is bad (but it's clearly an afterthought indeed).
But yeah, they definitely given the finger to the sport in favor of letting casuals have more fun. So if you are a casual, go for it!But maybe wait until all the extra content is added. They sometimes add new gear options (though it's superchaotic and I have no clue what gets added apart from some highlighted items).

Re: Should I buy the game now?
Just to give my feedback.. been playing +200 fights..
Bought it. Regreted it.
Game is broken in so many aspects... the experience is not fun at all online. It's really annoying...
Expectations: to play like martial mind hahahhah
Reality: you find a game that rewards pressure/ non intelligent fighting..
Guy throws 500 punches in first round, whiffs 400, but because he was able to hit me a few times in the stomach somehow I got a lower stamina..I'm sorry, did I miss something here? WHat kind of bull**** is this? I can see why there are so many people were upset with the game.

Re: Should I buy the game now?
Nah tbh I gave up on this game and I'm one of the most positive people on here. I had faith for a good while, but UFC 4 just ain't it for me. I can't excuse the emotes, ridiculous cosmetics, intro dance moves and gestures, damage system, stamina, no hammer fists and elbows, gnp being a guessing game. Just gonna wait for UFC 5, unless a miracle patch comes our way and fixes a lot of these things but I highly doubt it now. Really fed up with the direction they took with this game.Last edited by Stealthhh; 03-23-2021, 06:52 AM.Comment

Re: Should I buy the game now?
Obviously people are going to complain about gameplay issues if there are such, but I'm quite astonished that so little noise is made about quality of life omissions and how unfinished the game as a whole is.
How aren't people more outraged about being limited in such a disgusting way where they can't even choose to play as whoever they want in Ranked I cannot understand. Or not being able to choose short colours. Or the fact that you can't review fight stats and damage/stamina even after the fight is over, like in UFC 3, something I learned from Pryoxis today. There must be a myriad of other things like that as well.
I genuinely don't understand how this game can be considered "okay", let alone anything above that. Whatever elemets of 3 that were barren are still barren at best, and in many cases, the game is actually neutered further.Comment

Re: Should I buy the game now?
@Lars and @tomi
Is that really the case? I've seen complaints, but I was left with the impression people have rather resigned to what the game is, ignored the deficiencies and kind of tried to like the game for whatever little it offers. If there have been rants and ****storms that I've missed — fair enough. It's just that the likes of Reddit also don't seem to be places that EA particularly care about. It is only when people like Romero and Pryoxis are speaking out the way they are that I get the "****'s finally truly gone south, huh" feeling.Comment
