5* GSP and Anderson
I've learnt that star ratings can be artificially raised to 5*. So you wouldn't even need to buff GSP and he can be 5*. Anderson should be buffed stat wise to around 4.5* then artificially to 5*.

Pretty sure we've already has this discussion. What's wrong with GSP's stats at WW?¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -

Re: 5* GSP and Anderson
Most people dont know its artificial, theyll pick those fighters more leading to more variety of picks. GSP is rarely used compared to 3 and it'll be good to see him used more again. This applies way more to Silva who i want buffed to 4.5* then artificially to 5*. He isnt even on the top fighters section right now which iirc is actually ranked by stats (which is why cormier is above Izzy even tho Izzy is 5* and Cormier is 4.5*). Besides that they deserve it.Comment

Thing is though, going by what you just said, all this change would do it make people play as these guys all the time instead of the guys the currently use all the time. It doesn't really diversify the picks people make, it just swaps out the old ones with these guys. And imo, it's better that people are using current top ranked guys than only using top guys from almost a decade ago. Obviously neither is ideal, but that's why I despise the overall/star system in the first place.
There shouldn't be an overall star rating. As you said, people just choose the guys with the most stars. Take that away, and suddenly it can't happen.Comment

Re: 5* GSP and Anderson
Silva is rated badly because he's fighting out of his prime. After his official retirement I'd expect him to get the legend treatment like others have gotten, and be buffed to his prime.

Also buff Nick diaz, he's 3.5 stars, he should be minimal 4 stars.
And no it wouldn't make a difference if star ratings were gone, there would still be the top ranked section. If that were removed too people would just go by best stats.Comment

Re: 5* GSP and Anderson
Being 5 stars doesn't mean they'll be the only fighters picked, it just means have more chance of being picked. People will pick who they like regardless, Wonderboy and Conor are 4 stars but still more picked than GSP ime. RDA and Tony are higher on the top ranked section than prime GSP. The top stat ranked doesn't even have Silva at MW.

be a high star rating. Star ratings are all about averages. Same goes for his grappling. Nick has great BJJ, but his wrestling isn't fantastic, and so his grappling stats aren't going to be that high either. When you average it out, it kinda makes sense that Nick is 3.5 stars. The issue might be that in comparison to certain other fighters, 3.5 seems low. But I think that's more of an issue with other guys being rated too highly.
It's kinda insane to me that a guy like Francis Ngannou has a 4.5 rating overall. He has 4.5 striking, 4 grappling, and 4.5 health. That's insane. Francis has shown nothing in his career other than having insane punching power. He hasn't demonstrated anywhere near 4 star grappling, 4.5 star health, or even 4.5 striking. Kinda makes no sense that he's 4.5 striking when striking includes stuff such as footwork, stance switching, and kicks. I'd argue that if we're rating his stats fairy, he should probably be 3 or 3.5 stars overall in the game. However, that doesn't suddenly mean that he's terrible. It just means that his strengths all lie in one or two areas.
That's the problem with caring about the stars in the first place. Star ratings, if done fairly, without being artificially inflated, will only ever look good for well rounded fighters.
Anyway, I don't think you're going to get anywhere by simply arguing that GSP and Anderson "deserve 5 stars". What you need to do is look at the specific stats these guys actually have, and then compare those stats to other fighters, and then post why those stats should be increased. If you see that one of GSPs striking stats are less than Usman's, and you think that's wrong, then point that specific thing out. Simply saying "GSP deserves 5 stars" is pointless, and no one is going to care.Comment

Re: 5* GSP and Anderson
You're too focused on the star ratings, dude. The actual stars are irrelevant. What matters are the stats that make up those stars. Look at Nick Diaz' actual stats, not his stars. Then come back and say what specifically should be buffed - which will then lead to him maybe being 4 stars. Nick Diaz has good hands, but lacks power, and his kicks aren't very good. That immediately means that his striking stats should never really

Re: 5* GSP and Anderson
And that logic applies to nate diaz, but hes 4 stars.
Prime nick diaz does not deserve 3.5 star. Buff his boxing and BJJ till hes 4 stars, idc which stats they do that too.Comment

Cormier is now 5*.
Cool dont have a problem with it, but GSP and Silva should be too. Only silva needs to be buffed to become 5* hes only 4* now, buff him to 4* stat wise then artificially too 5*.Comment
