    Add odds

Now that there are odds on the tale of the tape, would be good to incorporate them into the UFC 5. Bring back the tale of the tape and merge it with the prefight score screen.

Have $ winnings be what determines rank or level instead of points. So different fight matchups would have different odds across the game. So you'll win or lose more $ from riskier fights but win or lose less from safe fights. You could be demoted levels like in ranked too, could be the same or a level floor for demotions.

So you have incentives to win by finish, but you also would lose more $ by being finished. There could also be a DraftKings/fantasy MMA style mode, which works off the mechanics of this.

Not likely to happen in a game that’s rated T. I also doubt that EA would be willing to make this game rated M.

Is that for the fantasy MMA, odds, or both?

If the odds part alone isnt an issue, it would be good to add imo for presentation and matchmaking, also $ replacing the points isnt really related to gambling. But if that's an issue too then fair enough.

Both. Involving gambling in any way is problematic for a games with a T rating.

IDK, it's explicitly stated in that it can contain simulated gambling.

Titles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language.

I'm all for more immersive options, but this one I can do without. Given from the obvious link to gambling which EA can miss right now, it would be downright stupid of them to include it.

Oh ****. Thanks for this Lars.

Its strange because I remember reading that even games like Red Dead and GTA had to jump through hurdles to get gambling in their games and those games were rated M.

Good to hear this is a possibility.

It's worth noting that ESRB is only used in North America. While ESRB is pretty similar to other rating systems, it's possible there are some that are harsher on simulated gambling.

That being said, I am pretty sure WMMA 5 already features odds and everyone should know by now that EA UFC won't have a robust universe/management mode anytime soon. As far as online part is concerned there's just the problem that odds are very dynamic unlike fighter ratings so I doubt it would be that meaningful.
                ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Exactly. Why campaign for "odds" when the only shell in which these would be meaningful is absent.

As you mention it could take winning streaks and finish rates/times into account for online play, so that could in fact be a fun little tweak. Also, when the userbase dwindles it can be nice to know when to quit a matchup if you're -1000 behind.

I don't know much about gaming sales and the effects of ratings....but does it make a huge difference have an M game? Honest question because I don't know how the ratings effect sales. All I can say is practically every kid in my family (on all sides as young as 9) knows about and plays GTA. All of my friends kids have GTA or COD (is cod M?). I'll roll into Gamestop and kids who can't even see over the counter have copies of RDR2 in their hands.

It's mostly for potential lawsuits. Haven't met a store owner who doesn't sell a game. It's not like the kid's going to be wired to the cops.

It depends on the store. GameStop is notorious for selling to underage kids M games but I have witnessed some clerks reject kids trying to buy certain games (I remember it specifically when the last GTA came out)

I’ve heard a Best Buy and other retailers are more vigilant. With that said, most of the time when a kid is buying the game...their parents are the ones buying it. Some parents see the M rating and won’t buy a game simply because of that.
