I'm interested to see what the breaking point is going to be for the people who post here regulalrly. ****, I'm interested to see if there is a breaking point.

I know nothing about UFC 5 but I dont anticipate that EA is going to pivot toward a hardcore sim game. UFC 4 sold well. Their bet that new people would buy the game because of the cosmetics and simplified controls while the hardcore fans would stay because they NEED an MMA game every 2 years paid off.

So are we going to do the same dance in 2022? When the game comes out and it doesnt have all of the fighters....is missing "key" grappling positions....and is focused on appealing to casual and comp players.....

Are you guys going to do the same thing? Buy the game and then spend the next 2 years complaining?

Just trying to get people on the record now. My guess is a most of the people will have the game because their "imaginary girlfriend" bought it for them at launch.

Well I know with their next game EA better step their game up, cuz that new boxing game (ESBC) is about to drop. While it's not a rival MMA game, I feel like it'll gravitate way more casuals than UFC cuz it's just boxing and will likely be easier to pick up and play. Add to that, it also looks pretty sick. Not for nothing, but that might just be the game to bring a little competition to EA in the combat sports area, cuz it has the potential to snatch UFC's casual crowd away. Time will tell

There is no breaking point without competition. If you like combat sports games, you get like 2-3 every five years. No matter how bad the game is, it will have a built in audience. Sports game fans have just accepted the shaft. Exclusive licenses ruined the genre.

Re: Haven’t played in 2 months. What’s changed about the game in that time?

Isn’t that a lame *** excuse though? I am a a HUGE MMA fan. I’m the amount of hours I spend watching MMA a year is ridiculous.

With that said, I don’t need an MMA game. Just because I like a sport doesn’t mean that’s I have to buy it and accept “the shaft”.

****, most of the people here accepted the shaft at full price. They could’ve waited until Black Friday when the game was half price but they were so eager to get a game they knew they wouldn’t like that they couldn’t even wait.

Anyway, I guess the answer is people here will buy the game at launch just so they can complain about it here until 2024. That’ll show EA.

It won’t. I think the game is going to be a success but by the time Ufc 5 comes out, ESBC will be almost a year old (unless it gets pushed back). People always want the new.

It’s also not that much of a financial burden to buy both games.

                No matter what,
some people are always needed to complain
                Let them achieve better,
                unless they are really good

Complaints can be converted into positive energy
Listen to what people complain about to improve and get better

Hey, I got the game at launch for $47 because I owned UFC 3, thank you very much.

I didn't know I wasn't going to like UFC 4. I was just dumb enough to believe the producers when they talked about the emphasis they placed on career mode. I didn't know the devs would half-*** the mode again and never even bother to patch it.

Look, I dunno if I'll buy UFC 5 or not. If the stale ground game that's been basically the same since UFC 2 gets overhauled and we get something more dynamic, I probably will. But if I buy a game, it's because I think I'll like at least some things about it.

                    Keyword......."Again"

So based on your statement, I'm assuming that you didnt like the career mode in UFC 2 or 3 (correct me if I'm wrong) and decided to take the word of developers (who want you to buy the game) instead of waiting a week to hear how career mode was in UFC 4.

Maybe I'm dumb but I legit cant wrap my head around the approach some people take here. For example, I like MLB the Show 21 alot. I'm enjoying my time playing that game. So when 22 comes out, I may buy it sight unseen because the game's developers have shown me that they create a product im happy with.

Then take Madden. I havent been completely happy with Madden in a decade (other than when you can mod the game on PC) but if I decide to buy the game this fall without confirming that the things I need are in the game.....THAT'S MY FAULT.

The thing I wont do is buy Madden at launch knowing that it isnt the type of game I want and then complain for the next year about the game. Thats counterintuitive and if the last 4 editions of UFC have shown doesn't work.

I'm not saying that the devs NEVER listen to this community. That would be false but you guys give EA your money while knowing that they arent making the game for you and then get mad about it. It makes no sense.

There's no alternative MMA game out there. If you want to play an MMA game, EA's is the only option.

And I have to say the devs seem to be listening to the community less and less since Geoff Harrower left. I find it really hard to believe that something as basic as ****ing elbows on the ground would've been removed if he was still on board.

I have lowered my expectations quite a bit this time around.

I'll buy it eventually like I did this time. Definitely going to use any trial period before hitting "buy."

They really don't seem to focus on the things I care about (roster, presentation, etc...) but honestly they're about 1-2 somewhat manageable moves away from really improving quality of life, and I'm hoping they will consider these options (finally).

                        -Increase CAF slots
-Bring back full customization to CAFs
-Give us all the fight kit options for all fighters (Legends & CAFs)
-Fighter Share (I get why they don't, but don't understand how they apply that logic choice to Madden where rosters can be downloaded and include created players [emoji2369])
-Dont remove as many fighters that leave the UFC (understand this is UFC's call, but do what you can to keep them in since we clearly can't add new fighters fast enough)

If those items aren't remedied, I'm not saying I won't buy. But I will be two years older, I'm getting busier at work and at home...I may simply age out faster than I want.

But I won't really complain this time.

This game is what I thought it would be, no real control over your fighter, a single button press for many different commands, long animations, it’s been down hill for a long time and now it’s peaked. I sure miss the good old days. My faith in ea died long before undisputed 09 even came out. But it’s mma so it’s worth 20$ to me, i get an hour of fun out of it and I’m fine with it, the next one will be worse, I’ll wait until it’s 10-20$, get some moderate enjoyment out of it then move on

That’s no excuse. There is no other alternative AAA level football, basketball or hockey fans either.

You don’t have to buy the game. You choose to and if you choose to while knowing that the game is missing things you think are necessary, you kinda forfeit your option to constantly complain about those issues.

We knew GNP elbows were not in the game during the beta. Not one time did I see a dev say they were going to add that back in (unlike other things). So you chose to reward EA buy giving them 47 bucks for a game that you knew was incomplete in your eyes.

Don’t take this the wrong way. I’m not attacking you. I’ve bought plenty of average and below average games in my life. But what I don’t do is spend years complaining about the game I bought when I knew the game was going to be average or below average (Not saying that you are doing that but plenty of others are)

Also, I believe Geoff was still on the team when the no elbows decision was made.

Used to bitch about Madden all the time..... I've either not bought it or bought knowing what I'm getting.....

I've been annoyed with UFC games since EA took over...... Haven't bought one since 2 and just play UD3 and EAMMA (the irony) to get my fix.

This no other alternative excuse is pathetic.

Really? the no alt excuse is bs?

So if we wanna play as Jiri or Rob Font and UFC 3 and before doesn't have them just suck it up and play with outdated fighters and gameplay?

I like the new td and clinch in ufc 4 but because it doesnt have TBS, or sim mode or whatever I cant complain.. not even constant complaints? Just regular constructive criticism every now and then? Like it seems like you guys just want to stiffle criticism and want to live in your own casual echo chamber in terms of feedback.

Hell if theres no Connor, WMMA, or Ngannou in UD3... So because ufc 4 or 5 doesn't have some feature we want we shouldn't buy it and we cant complain about something we payed for?
