Exactly it. UFC 4 has some new features I like. The new clinch system is cool. The new takedown animations are great, and were something I'd been hoping to see for years. I don't make excuses for buying it. Whether I regret buying it, I guess depends on the day and my mood.

But there was enough good I saw in UFC 4 to take a chance and buy it. And I'm going to complain about what's bad and praise what's good.

So if we wanna play as Jiri or Rob Font and UFC 3 and before doesn't have them just suck it up and play with outdated fighters and gameplay?

Hell if theres no Connor, WMMA, or Ngannou in UD3... So because ufc 4 or 5 doesn't have some feature we want we shouldn't buy it and we cant complain about something we payed for?
      Its absolute 100% BS.

One, no one here (especially not you John) just complains "every now and then". You consistently complain about issues. I could pick a single issue that you have, run a search and find tens of posts youve made complaining about that issue. So lets not act as if people are trying to "stiffle" criticism. You guys do nothing but complain and have been given free reign to do so for years.

Two, why do people act like they have to have a MMA game. MMA is one of my top 2 favorite sports. I've spent thousands of dollars flying all over the damn continent to watch the sport live. I love this sport. But if EA took sliders out of the game or reduced the number of CAFs or made it impossible to use CAFs from different profiles in the game or took away any thing I considered a must have...I wouldnt buy the ****ing game. I get the game for free and I wouldnt even play it.

****, EA ruined CAFs for me with 4. I had devs personally promise me that it would be looked into and likely fixed......never happened. Do you see me on OS or the Discord constantly complaining about that even though I was lied to? Nope. Ask the Gamechangers if they have seen me write a thing about this issue to the devs since 3 mos after release? They wont find a single word.

Why? Because its a waste of time. EA knows about the issue. They arent willing to fix it now. They have until 5 to fix it. If they dont, I wont buy the game. If I do break down and buy it, I damn sure wont spend the next 9 mos complaining about the issue online. I made a choice to buy an incomplete game.

Its idiotic to complain non-stop about a game and reward the company who made the game with your money. Its counterintuitive and there hasnt been a single person here who has been willing to or is able to debate that. You guys always run to the "exclusivity" excuse or the "constructive criticism" excuse. So I'll give you another chance to answer this question.

How does buying an incomplete game encourage EA to make the changes you want?

Maybe couple years ago. But I'm not here now constantly criticizing the game. And when I do criticize the game I'm not trashing it, I suggest what I want. I argue for it and if it's not going anywhere I drop it. I admit it wasnt like that before.. but how often to do I bring up hand fighting, shifts, boxing mode, etc.

The only thing I discuss more now is TBS and sim mode/quick fight online sliders and that's because the devs have said they are open to it. I even heard they are looking into bringing back shifts or at least making switching more important. And removing the invisible wall and adding head fighting (shoulder to shoulder) they seem open to as well. So what do you not want me to discuss that either?

There are plenty of things the devs have listened to me too about as well. Like the chain transitions between back sitting and back control, or the input thread I which a lot of the new inputs were used like block and sway, or head movement stamina tax, KDs against the cage, clinch Kds, angles to back etc. They listened to so many of my suggestions. Not saying I directly caused them, but they did listen. And I dont bother them about thkings that seem unlikely like hand fighting, wrist control etc. Anymore until they seem open.

And incomplete game? So you blame the consumers for ea releasing incomplete games, they try to stop feedback about completing the game? You're taking something ****ty that ea does and then blame us for suggesting feedback to complete it us, unless it's for casuals.

So do you want a casual feedback echo chamber? Listened to my feedback that wasnt necessarily with casuals in mind, so why wouldn't I continue riticizing orsuggesting feedback

I understand what Aholbert is saying. Tbh I really dont give a **** anymore. It's obvious EA's aim is not the hardcore fanbase and that's understood and accepted. Hardcores will still get some things they want, but majority of the aim is on selling to the casuals that make up most of their income. Will I still buy the game? Sure...I've already accepted that the game isnt being made for me and I'm fine with that. Like Max Holloway says, it is what it is. Even though their main focus isnt on what hardcores want and they've obviously made some dumb design choices with UFC4, we cant say they haven't done anything for the hardcores. We've come a long way from the arcade bs that was UFC 1.

I dont feel like searching to prove my point but if you believe you've changed and dont constantly criticize, I'll let you go on believing.

If you believe your feedback was related to things they changed...cool. I could go down the list one by one but that would be useless. You can believe what you want.

I'll also do something you arent willing to do...I'll answer you questions. I dont give a single solitary **** about whether this place is a casual feedback echo chamber or not. I've being 100% honest. I have no control over what you guys post here. I dont respond to 99% of it. I just honestly think the whole thing is....sad.

Everyone here has a valuable weapon...the ability to not buy the game. Thats the reason that EA catered UFC 4 to a casual audience....BECAUSE THEY DONT BUY THE GAME. EA saw that audience and saw that as a way to grow the game and it worked.

Now it worked because a good amount of the people who were unhappy with the game (mostly the hardcore audience) bought the game and bought it at full price....people like you. Combine that with the new casual audience and you have a successful game from a financial perspective.

So instead of using that weapon, you chose to use the one that hasnt worked consistently for almost a decade...criticizing the game on social media. 7 yrs of development and the game isnt any closer to what you guys want than it was in 2014.

Let me make one more thing clear: I dont blame the customer for EA making an incomplete game. I blame the customer for knowing its an incomplete game and still buying it.

If Ford makes a car with no front bumper or side mirrors, that's Ford's fault. If you buy the car knowing that there is no front bumper or side mirrors....thats your ****ing fault. Your dollars are showing Ford that you are ok with buying a car missing those features. Same thing here.

See thats all I'm saying. I'm not telling anyone to not buy the game. I'm saying if the game is so bad that you feel the need to consistently complain about the game for a year, you shouldnt buy the game.

I buy plenty of games that arent the sim version that I want. I buy Fifa each year and that game doesnt even have fouls in it. I know that going into it and I accept it for what it is. You dont see me in the Fifa forum complaining about it constantly because the devs on that game know its an issue and havent been willing to fix it for years.

              Same thing with UFC.

It is closer to what I want tho. You keep talking to us like a monolith, but we're all different and have different attitudes.

I already said I like the game for what it is, I got plenty of changes that I asked for. I didn't get everything, but are you expecting me to not buy the game or complain about it after i get because it isn't 100% what I want even tho the devs listen to my complaints and have already addressed many of them?

What is sad? That I asked for the chain transitions between back sitting and back control, or the input thread I which a lot of the new inputs were used like block and sway, or head movement stamina tax, KDs against the cage, clinch Kds, angles to back etc.... and they listened? Or That I'm asking for TBS and sim mode/quick fight online sliders, shifts, and removing the invisible wall and adding head fighting (shoulder to shoulder)now and they seem open to as well.

I did answer your question. I bought an incomplete game as you say, I made some complaints and feedback, they listened to a lot of it and the changes were made. And they are open to most of the remaining. So why shouldn't I continue to give feedback? Why should I stop giving feedback just because isn't working for others? It has worked for me.

Nope. Never said that. Respond to what I actually say instead of arguments I'm not making.

Never said you couldnt complain. I said consistently complain for over a year. ****, I didnt even call you out or refer to you specifically until you decided for some reason to jump into this convo. But you seem to be having an issue with what I'm saying so I'll make it plain.

If there is an issue with the game that has been present for multiple editions and that you know was still going to be an issue with the game....you shouldnt have purchased the game.

If that issue is so bad that you spend the next 10 months CONSISTENTLY complaining (not constructive criticism...not a wishlist for UFC 5) about that issue, it wouldve served you better not to buy the game than paying EA 60 bucks and then screaming into the void about that issue for almost a year.

                  Thats it.

If you think the devs are listening to you specifically, cool. But that means that my statements arent directed at you, right? You say you are happy with the game and dont think its incomplete. So that means my statements dont apply to you.

Yeah I dont care if the devs aren't listening to hardcore community as a whole. I guess I didn't make it clear enough before I dont care if you ignore or ban the bad ones. I dont expect the EA UFC games to be completely sim and I haven't since around the UFC 3 cycle.

The things I wanted this year are mostly in, and the remaining are possible for UFC 5. The devs do listen to the hardcore community just not everything- just like they dont listen to every single casual feedback, I get the point to tame our expectations.

I know nothing about UFC 5 but I dont anticipate that EA is going to pivot toward a hardcore sim game. UFC 4 sold well. Their bet that new people would buy the game because of the cosmetics and simplified controls while the hardcore fans would stay because they NEED an MMA game every 2 years paid off.

So are we going to do the same dance in 2022? When the game comes out and it doesnt have all of the fighters....is missing "key" grappling positions....and is focused on appealing to casual and comp players.....

Are you guys going to do the same thing? Buy the game and then spend the next 2 years complaining?

Just trying to get people on the record now. My guess is a most of the people will have the game because their "imaginary girlfriend" bought it for them at launch.
I wish my girlfriend was imaginary. She’s a pain in my *** and never leaves me alone.

Haven’t touched UFC 4 since access, and probably won’t again. There’s nothing to bring me back. Every time I see them add more current fighters I get the itch, and then I remember how boring and unfulfilling this game was during access. Then I am happy I skipped.

I won’t say I am 100% going to skip 5 until I have more info. But if event mode is the only way I can enjoy this series offline I will probably skip that one to. If the game in general doesn’t provide an enjoyable offline I experience I will skip period.

The things I wanted this year are mostly in, and the remaining are possible for UFC 5. The devs do listen to the hardcore community just not everything- just like they dont listen to every single casual feedback, I get the point to tame our expectations.
Hello all. I've read this entire thread and I want you to know that we are still listening. I am gathering your feedback and will, as always, try to take it into consideration an any updates and future changes that go in.

To those people who tell others that it is pointless to continue share their opinions of the game both positive and negative I would say that it is proportionally more pointless to share your opinions of those who share their opinions on the game.

We will continue to do the best we can for the players both casual and hardcore with the resources we have available. The feedback I have gotten from this group has been invaluable as we have put out gameplay patches and for that I am grateful.

                        Regards

Thank you. I appreciate that. This game has some of the best dev interaction. It would be terrible to lose it. Glad you still value both hardcore and casual feedback.

I can respect that. An informed purchase is the best purchase. The beauty of this time is that prior to release and especially two weeks after release, you know pretty much everything about the game.

                            You know the roster.
                            The new features.
                            Career mode
Any new additions to old features.

If you feel in the past that the team has come up short or failed to deliver on things in the past, the best approach IMO is to wait and see what the game is and then make a decision from there. Why would anyone assume they are going to fix things if the devs havent commented on it and said they were going to fix them?

Elbows in GNP arent in the game and EA hasnt indicated they are going to add them? Wait until they add them or buy the game and accept that they wont likely be in the game. I think its bad faith to ask the buying public to rely on blind faith and hope that a feature they want will be added. I also think its silly for someone to blame the company because you purchased a game at full price with a missing feature they they never promised to add back....especially when you are complaining about that feature non stop.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I just respect the hell out of people who either use their power as a consumer or purchase and accept the game for what it is.

Yeah I feel you. We really are lucky to have something like access. I was able to judge pretty early on the game wasn’t for me. UFC 4 isn’t all bad. I saw a lot of good things I liked. Unfortunately my biggest gripe is there is really nothing to suck you in if your not a competitive online player. At this point I am just too damn old and past my prime to get into the online competitive scene. That’s what the THQ games did so well with their event modes. I kept going back to those games 4-5 times a year. Even EA UFC 2 was a game I really enjoyed for whatever reason. 3 and so far 4 we’re just not my cup of tea. I just really hope in the future they can find a way to appease the online comp crowd, as well as us guys who just want to run our own fight cards and have a fun and challenging experience against the AI

I would post my thoughts on improvements I would like but who cares, this series has become a steaming pile, it’s too far gone to be saved
