I hope for their sake that the... new animations added in EAUFC4 were just copied from another game, though I cannot imagine what game that would be.

Would be happy to see some overhaul. I happened to find a cheap Xbox Series S this week and decided to get it just for the "FPS" upgrade without expecting much. I must say the load times have significantly improved and as I FPS-sceptic I admit it does play more smoothly. You can actually notice the difference. Not worth the 200$ but given the next game won't be on PC (probably) I'd have to get one eventually anyway.

I hope it comes sooner rather than later, as this game will probably be quite dead now that all the support has stopped. I can still amuse myself playing career as it's quite decent, but there will be an end to that eventually.

And if they don't even bother to fix some common issues present since release, that have been communicated on the proper channels, than I hope a new game is underway. It might seem stupid to some, but the fact that in championship fights you're always facing black tights instead of coloured or even white. This is probably fixed in 5 minutes. If you're not going to fix it, just say so up front. Less damage that way...

The new animations for ufc 4 were new animations. I was just talking about animations from ufc 1.

Well, with that mentality - nothing wrong with it of course - you can definitely greenlight the approach EA takes for its FIFA series: just focus on a couple of rather small changes and go from there. If your base engine is fine - and it should be after 20 years or more - people will just buy the update and go with it.

Here the 'problem' was the learning curve. They did some work on the tutorial to make it actually relevant/usable and they gave more spotlight to the striking-only matches. You even have a cool-looking Mortal Kombat-style arena and backyard arena for the casuals, including costumes.

Then why did they still overhaul the clinch? The only real problem was the difficulty. I don't know what it is they ended up with. Maybe in muay thai you see this kind of clinching? It's quite bad, especially given that, in UFC3.5, after getting rid of the imbalances, I really liked it. Way to erase all the progress...

The change of engine is logical, but I really hope they can recycle more than just the animations.

But after a while it's pretty clear to me how EA treats the license. Just let go of it. Look at the forums hub. There's not even a feature of EA UFC 4 after its release over a year ago, instead we get old stuff like Burnout and FIFA19.

It is so great to see that there is finally some competition for the ufc franchise. I really hope they will step their game up.

I bought every ufc game so far but if I see a tiger mask again in ufc 5 i will go right back to esbc
What do you mean a major overhaul? UFC 4's animations are literally the best animations you can find in any combat sport. High level strikers already have different animations than low level strikers. I guess more signature animations like Conor and Thompson could make the game much better. Also yeah the visuals could get better.

              This forum completely died...

UFC 4 is genuinely worse than UFC 3 and it took them over 2 years. It feels even more arcade somehow...

I'm really hoping that the community voices how disappointing this last game has been. I think we have... I just hope it's enough. Significant improvements should be made in the next one. Enough excuses for EA and the developers. UFC 4 was very disappointing. Point blank. A lot more care needs to be put into the next one. The majority of the MMA community clearly doesn't like the game as you'll see echoed in any online MMA community. Please listen to us and really do something about it.

Pretty normal that it's dead as the last patch has been made. No point in asking for other stuff.

I just hope their statistics correlate with our impressions that people don't care about their useless crap-animations and attire. Let those people work on alternative striking and grappling animations, and on proper MMA-themed outfits.

And here's hoping for a true simulation mode with proper stamina use. We do get the sliders, but I assume people who play online aren't helped with that.

For the record: I always thought the game was fine and I enjoyed it. Could still be better though, especially career. And just implement a proper clinch again. And as I am repeating myself, it has no point to continue posting. Few things have changed since release apart from new content and some tweaks.

Honestly I'm looking forward to the next game. Better sooner than later imo, unless they need time to implement the new engine. With the recent UEFA dispute, I hope they treat their licence better now.
