Why did you even preorder? Just wait until the last day to do it. I cancelled it once (with Cyberpunk, because of quality issues/glitches), but that was more of a refund. U know they'd have to reveal the roster beforehand at some point.

Don't ever, ever, assume a game company is going to magically do what you except them to. Except when it's about the roster of a damn sports game... That's about the only real change in the FIFA series and the other sports: the teams. And here they just didn't do it. Wow...

Don't ever, ever, assume a game company is going to magically do what you except them to. Except when it's about the roster of a damn sports game... That's about the only real change in the FIFA series and the other sports: the teams. And here they just didn't do it. Wow...

Great point. I assumed they would update the roster since that’s all the really do for madden haha. Glad I could cancel and get a refund this time. I’ll play the 10 hours and wait for price drop in 2 weeks lol. By then the studs who make CAFs will have a bunch made and I can flesh out my universe

I’m not surprised. 4’s launch roster was really, really poor, and although they put in lots of DLC fighters, a lot of those fighters should have been in the game when it released.

What makes this worse is that we STILL can’t edit CAF stats and movesets. It’s such a stupid, backwards move. Sure, we can create CAFS that look like their real life counterparts, but if we’re limited to archetypes then there’s really no point. This is such a basic thing but EA somehow managed to mess it up.

Wow, what a joke. There’s still missing about 60 currently ranked fighters. This game is near a port of UFC 4, don’t see what they’re really offering here to make it worth it.

Unfortunately they are offering the only mma game for next gen consoles. That’s enough for most people to purchase it, myself included

All they really have to do is mimick the face. It can't be that hard on their "new" engine. Every fighter fights almost the same anyways. In the WWE games they have to put in entrance animations, taunts, finisher animations, etc. It's just a face here...


But maybe it's harder than I'd think. Saw the jace of Jedrzejczyk and boy I don't remember her like that at all. XD

It might suffice for me too. The "problem" is that I haven't played the game in many a month and am eager for it. You should however do the exercise of playing 3 or 4 after the 10 hours are up. If you enjoy that just as much (why woudln't you?), don't purchase.

Nobody? What matters is that the top15 is present. But maybe that's their plan, to keep adding more after, and make them "purchasable" in-game. Since they've established this rhytm before. It's risky, though, as several people will hold off on their purchase. As I am merely a casual fan, I don't care that much about the roster. Hey, I'm happy it has Big Nog and Wandy (but someone said he was removed? Is that confirmed? He's still in the list in OP.).

I’d love to know the percentage of fighters in the game who are active fighters vs ones who are retired/cut/legends.

I deleted people from ufc 4 universe to make room for new people in my ufc 5 one. I’m shocked there’s not one difference. Imma have to cancel preorder and get the game in a month when these guys on YouTube make some awesome cafs for those 50 slots

That's what my friend Aholbert32 implied, although his comment was according to what he remembered, that is, not with complete certainty.

By the way, Aholbert32 is missed here, people are too critical of his person, for me even if I tried not to be 100% with him in everything, he was always correct with me, and I was always grateful to him, the information within what he could give.

I don’t disagree haha . But at the end of the day I think you either hope to change it or accept it. I’ve accepted that EA is not in the business of making realistic sports games, that’s not their market. So I can either not buy it and hope that Ea gets bought out or loses their exclusive license (doubtful) or I buy it knowing what it is and trying to make the game fun with my offline universe stuff

I understand the frustration, but this is the simple reality:
- People are eager to play another MMA game.
- Although it's debatable, this one might just be a tiny bit better than the previous iterations (it's superclose imo).
- EA has a monopoly on the genre.
Ergo: People buy this game.

I generally played this series at least 100h a game. This is easily worth the 65$ cost if you compare to other games or forms of entertainment. I could easily play other games while awaiting the next version, inevitably next year, but I might choose not to wait. This is how millions of FIFA players think. Except there used to be PES and I simply bought that, which was imo a better game.

EA prays on this simple reality, and until some other company comes along, they do as they please.

FYI: people are individualistic. Nobody will damage his own entertainment value just to "make a statement" and help others like yourself by protesting this dev behaviour. You could call this "sheepish" behaviour but it's really just a healthy self-serving. Don't blame these people, though I guess they are indeed part of the problem. Just not the cause of it.

I’ll also add… the games value is what you see it as. I’m Sure career mode will be boring and repetitive as the last one, and online is always a cheese fest. But they gave me things I wanted for my own enjoyment offline:
1) more CAF slots
2) simulation mode
3) doctor stoppages, draws and better damage/injury system
4) seemingly better AI on simulation (I base that off the beta I played. If launch is even the same I had more fun against AI in ufc 5 then 4)

I put hours and hours into ufc 4 (still do) without those things, so those additions make the game worth it. It won’t be as fun grappling as undisputed and I’ve accepted that isn’t what EA ufc want it to be
