Looks like Machida is getting his Title Shot!
For those of you who havent heard Mir vs. Lesner has been postponed from UFC 98 because of Mir's knee surgery. Dana is supposedly going to ask Rashad Evans to defend his title in place of the Mir/Lesner fight. Unless Rampage just walks through Jardine tonight. I doubt he will be ready to fight Evans by May 23. That leaves Machida for the main event.Tags: None -

that will be a exciting fight, they are both pretty elusive...........Rampage might be pissed though. I will be pulling for Machida but I want to see Rampage vs Evans too.My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

If Jardine wins tonight, Evans will fight Machida. If Rampage wins tonight, he fights Evans. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Re: Looks like Machida is getting his Title Shot!
So, in light of Rampage winning what do you think happens with Machida? Should they hold off on another fight for him and give him the winner of Rampage/Evans? Do they feed him a scrub? Who does he really need to fight to prove he deserves a title shot? I hope we don't see a Griffin/Machida fight.PSN: ScoopBrady

I think Machida gets the shot in May anyway. I dont think Rampage is ready to fight Evans after going 3 rounds with Jardine and I think he realizes it. At the press conference he started to hedge about fighting Evans in May and is going to talk to his management about whether he should take the shot. If he takes the fight, I dont think Machida needs to fight before he gets his shot. If he wants to stay active, have him fight someone like Alexander or James Irvin.Comment

It makes more sense to give the fight to Machida and let Rampage face the winner.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Looks like Machida is getting his Title Shot!
As much as I think Machida should be getting the shot anyway...
There were 3 fights a night for a guy sometimes in the old UFC with the tourny set up and that was without time limits.
Sakuraba fought Royce Gracie for 90 minutes and still hauled himself out there the same night for another fight. He was worn out after the first round (wich was 15:00) but he still went out there.
So 2 months doesn't sound so bad in comparison.Comment

but in the old UFC, both fighters were in the same boat. Both had to fight several times in one night. Rashad is rested and Rampage will have fought 3 time in 5 months. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

In the old UFC one guy could've gone through wars while another breezed his way through the night.Comment

Rampage is going to get his Jaw checked out by a doctor this week. I doubt he fights Evans in May.Comment
