TMZ has confirmed the owner of the TapouT MMA clothing line died this morning when his ultra-rare $300,000 Ferrari crashed into a light pole, ripping the car in half.

TMZ has learned Charles Lewis Jr. -- aka "Mask" -- was driving his Ferrari Modena in Orange County, Calif. around 1:00 AM this morning when cops say it "left the roadway, hit the curb, took out a light pole."

"Mask" was declared dead at the scene. A female passenger -- who was ejected from the crash -- was taken to a local hospital, but we're told she's in bad shape.

Cops believe "Mask" was racing a guy in a Porsche at the time of the crash, and authorities have since arrested the guy they believe was driving the other car. That man -- Jeffrey David Kirby -- is being held on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter.
Shame, he seemed to be like a really nice guy on the show on Spike

That sucks...the Tapout guys seemed kinda cool from what I'd seen. RIP

That being said, what do you expect when you're street racing at speeds over 100 mph (I'm guessing on the speed)...It's a shame people have to do stupid things and get themselves killed.

I didn't know he was 45 years old. Looked much younger to me.

I wonder how Tapout will survive now. He seemed liked the main one in all the shows I watched. Punk *** did some stuff but the other guy didn't seem to do much.

I didn't like these guys at all. I thought Mask's act was one of the most annoying things I've ever seen. Cowobyyyyyyy!!!!!!

But I do feel very bad about what happened, and I've heard nothing but good things about Charles (Mask) over the course of the years listening to Sherdog radio and stuff like that.

              RIP Charles.

BTW, did you know that Mask was on the cover of a few old school UFC videogames?
