ufc undisputed; some little extra tid bits

    Dedicated to ahobert;

Here is a link that shows photos taken during a ufc event including some people playing the game - the first shot is the main menu (most likely could be placeholder) which shows modes such as classic fights, career, exhibition and so on. On the right side of the webpage you can scroll left or right through pictures - towards the left is people playing the game like bisping, to the right is shots of real ufc action.
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/mcneilc...to/3219679173/
you will notice little crowd details like the octagon girls sitting in their fold-charis at ringside in a shot of bisping playing and both characters are on the ground near the cage.

The format looks like the older one w/ red borders (which I prefer), instead of the newer metallic/gold look which i don't like anyway. The middle of the octagon is still harley davidson, and not the new one (light beer of some kind).

venues: I have no idea, and kind of doubt there will be 'official' venues, but some screens show variation. Also in the videos you can clearly see the brick wall that looks similar to the TUF cage.
    http://medianator.com/2009/02/previe...09-undisputed/
in that article bisping throwing the left hook looks quite different from other pictures. It looks like one of those smaller type venues. Other pictures I've seen have huge jumbotrons showing the action. And I've also seen some variation in the advertising within the octagon.

    The french THQ showing:

    ad poster is linked above

here is a link to the french impressions:

**very important to go to pg 5 which shows pictures providing evidence of the event!

here is a very rough translation:
translated... CRO COP IN THE GAME!!!btw used google translate..
So to avoid the responses con, necessarily what I will say y'aura many things we know already ...
I insist also on the fact that the game we tried was not entirely finished (after a guy from thq there is 1 month of development) and likely a modification,
    So it y'aura:
    - Between 60 and 80 fighters is confirmed
    - 5 weight category,
    - Some fighters like BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson move in 2 categories
    - A commitment to realism and respect for the fighting style
    - Management of the sweat and fatigue,
    - Damage by area (legs, sides, heads, etc.)
    - Cuts
    - Career Mode (choice of styles of combat fighting / kick / etc jjb)
    - Legend of Combat Mode
    - User training / tutorial (training mode is currently separated from the career mode it sagit more than one tutorial)
    GRAPHICS:
The game is really beautiful, ok it's not a surprise but you will not disappointed guaranteed! The modeling of the fighters is very good although some have completely messed up, cro-cop is a body builder really ugly too inflated for example.
Referees / ring girl is also widely recognized (y'en who saw Dana White in the audience: D)
    GAMEPLAY
Standing: It is still quite basic, one key for each member, the strokes are based on the distance separating the two combatants, by pressing the same button can send a nudge if you are near or far by jab example.
y'a un key "special move" on which you can press at the same time as another command (eg kick key + "special move" = blown knee / high kick following style / distance)
custody for the two triggers is left of the joystick, there are high care (head) or low (body), it is important to know that athlete who blocks shots still suffers damage in the front arm in this case and suffers the consequences.
Ko standing for several possibilities either KO "snapshot", ie in 1 shot or operates a sort of effect ko "(as in fight night) hit the soldier becomes slower, it is sounded and must dodge the blow several seconds in his mind if he is still affected and it is down most of the time tko after 2 / 3 strikes
    Clinch 3 opportunities melee standing:
    (I give denominations thq)
    - Clinch téte: basically it is the thai clinch
    - Clinch size before the size with a chance to work and co underhook
    - Clinch leg before the leg, attempted projection missed
when is the clinch can send keystrokes (fist / elbow / knee), attempt to recover the distance, try to get a more favorable position, or try a projection (I will explain the controls for the ground they are substantially the same)
    Sol
Ground combat is essentially based on the stick right, a quarter turn (left or right) is a half transition, a complete revolution = transition complete
eg if I am in the custody of my opponent half transition (if it's of course) and I find myself in half guard, I complete the transition goes directly into side control, etc. ....
So I asked for a list guard / submission available, impossible to have a correct answer, so what I saw playing, Brazilian guard, half guard, side control, north south, mounted on can also take the back is a bit much everything I believe .....
Submission: to initiate a bid must make a pressure on the stick right, then it's one that will turn over with the right stick, fortunately fatigue has a major role, but it turns quickly to throttle massacrage ( Mister Green)
There is also a "system against a position of weakness", pressing the right stick with the proper timing (interception of a large impactor) can allow a reversal / a tender
    INFO / ANECDOTE:
For Denn: y'aura actually a battle of legend but no Tank / Royce / Down in the demo
    - Tito Ortiz will be in the game, and it is great set!
    - Andrei Arlovski also
    - Cheick "Chippendale" Kongo has hair on the torso in the game and not like it: D
    - Jon Fitch knew it but he is too
    - Release date: 22 May 08 on xbox 360 and ps3
    - No variations on other media
    - Stamina bar can be visible or not / no bar life
    - Finalists will be this last UFC!
    - Mister Green / Zeboulette Kibo 94/Vinz/les brothers are all bad at the Xbox!
voila if you have any questions, if I have forgotten something called the try to do better!
Diamon swing photos (well not all right my friend: D)
    ps: I buy directly!

So this along with the developer q an a's on the www.ufcundisputed.com website in the communtiy section - there are 3 and another will come today along with IGN's MAJOR announcement!
after all that you're completely caught up.

      another thing:

I just watched a video interview with dana white during the lead-up to ufc 95 and he confirmed Forrest Griffin for the USA game cover, and GSP for the Canadian release - that's pretty awesome. I'm not big into covers, but it's cool that it's slightly localized.

Forrest Griffin? Evans would have been my choice, or Lesnar.

Forrest is a fan favorite, people are crazy for him. Lesnar is too WWE style - even still, at least for a little while longer - he hasn't been in the ufc long enough imo.
Evans has a lot of haters.
I sort of thought even though he's not the same fighter and imo should retire, that chuck would get it because of his HUGE popularity.

Reason I'd like Evans is because he is popular of some sorts and is undefeated. Lesnar, well he's more well known to people outside of MMA, which could help with sales.

Re: ufc undisputed; some little extra tid bits

Nice tid bits! On the topic of a cover, I'd like a GSP cover in America too, but Forrest is cool too.

Nice to see some sort of release date. Though May 22nd is a Friday and games typically drop Tuesday here, late May would be rad. Hopefully that means a demo early may. And I hope we can get some real gameplay vids, instead of trailers, in the months to come.

How do you guys feel about the "distance decider" and modifier button? I'm somewhat iffy about it. I wish I were able to control what sorts of special punches I throw such as a spinning back fist vs a superman punch. Or if I could attempt a flying knee at will.

Nonetheless, I think it's a first day buy for me, I'm really excited for a quality MMA game.

Re: ufc undisputed; some little extra tid bits

Good videos, they show a little more insight toward the in game fight progression.

I have to say though, some of the striking still seems somewhat arcade-like to me. There seem to be too many punches that land clean, jostle the head, but don't look too significant after that (especially bothersome in combos). However, there are some punches that don't seem to land too flush as well, so kudos on that.

Some of the submissions seem somewhat awkward as well. There is a sort of pause between initially going for the submission and locking in the submission (if you notice the Karo kamura). It would look better if there was an active struggle.

As a response to the discussion over in the Fight Night forum about the referee in ring, I noticed in these videos, during the ground game, that the ref sort of morphs in and out of action. Even just to look closely at the action. I think that could be a nice touch for the Fight Night ref. It seems as though the ref doesn't get in way, but he is present to officiate the in close action.

                  Can't wait till May 19!

I agree with everything you said. But apparently whilst playing those submission attempts are a bit of a struggle so that awkward inbetween moment is needed. It is a videogame afterall, and we need those little moments. The striking was displayed to show off those styles. If you look at all the vids, you can even see one where a punch misses and hits the opposing guy's hand and it moves! (not blocking but just in fighting stance) ...you have a point though about a lot of shots being clean, and that's because there's no bobbing and weaving. I made a suggestion on the website's forum about how they could make people with great defence bob and weave automatically while pressing a block button...since much of the striking is automated I think this would work well, you could slip a couple of punches here and there. If they make multiple editions, they might do something like that.

Anyway, I think little flaws stand out simply because the game looks so good - it's that effect where when things look almost real people get put off about it - it was in a game informer last year I'll post the name of it when I can find it. The best part is when people have played the game they have communicated that they all had a great time and can't wait to play more.

which one man? People who I saw that weren't confirmed were karo, Matt Hughes, Anderson silva (confirmed, but no real vids or pics) and that's all I can think of at the moment, don't remember seeing tito though.

ps...the muay thai clinch looks effective...i'm debating using kickboxing/judo or muay/judo for my CAP.
