This Saturday at 8p PST, I will have Don Gold, who is the EVP of entertainment for Zuffa on my program.

With the exception of the fighters, announcers, and Dana, you rarely hear from anyone else from the UFC, so this was pretty cool.

Don has been around since UFC 1, and spearheaded the entire project with THQ.

We recorded earlier this week, and spent over 20 minutes on the game alone. Pretty much every question left was answered:

Nope.. Basically he talks about having to start in the UFC gym in career mode and that they will be including fighters with DLC.

Cross posting this from another forum but for those who can't listen heres the gist of it.

This is grueling to listen to man its all hyberbole so far "things you've never seen before" "taking it to the next level" "we showed people the game who think its real life" lol. Painful stuff man.

Create a fighter mode confirmed - scars, tattoos muscles, cauliflower ears, facial hair. The only things he really touched on, didnt say how deep it was (like EAs for example) but did say you can adjust body part sizes like feet.

Online Confirmed - also tournaments scheduled as well as "fight the fighter" promotion for release - june. Super iffy on details for the online. Online is definitely in, hes talking about it again but no specifics yet.

DLC - The fighters from TUF will be available as DLC down the road.

Touched on create - a - fighter mode / career - sounds like a tutorial where you start off in one of the local UFC gyms once thats done you get a contract offer for a small fight and gotta build your way up to the mandalay bay. Sounded very much like fight night round 3 to be honest.

Asked him about the Jon Fitch thing - but took the question to a different place. They hinted at Legends of UFC. I guess if this game does well the would release a game with the gracies, shamrocks, Severn etc.

Really casual interview from a gamers perspective but still nice to see online finally confirmed for us.

I listened to it. the most interesting thing to me was that 'over 40 fighters' came into thq to check themselves out. But that X number of them would give feedback on what is presumably the AI for their characters. So that they would say something like "I wouldn't do that in this situation, I'd do this and this" That could really add to the single player experience if I interpreted what the UFC guy said correctly. - We'd be getting MANY AI's specific to certain characters. It's kind of hard to believe, but it would be neat if say one crazy BJJ guy loves to pull guard whenever he can, and another BJJ guy always tries for mount or side control, and one kickboxer likes to probe attack a ton (machida) and another like to bang in the pocket - you get the idea here.
I would love that for variety during single player and really give oppenents more individuality.
