The damage system for cuts and blood....

I EXCELLENT. Last night i figured i would just mess around. So i set the difficulty to #2 (forgot what it is called) and chose Rua. I wanted to see how the facial damage played out. The results are kinda funny.

Only 1 rule. Go toe to toe and land ALOT of elbows. Took Chuck to the 3rd until he finally fell. After 6 fights, i saw about 2 dozen different types of brusing and cuts. by the end of RD 2 he had a HUGE gash on his forehead that looked like he got hit with an Axe as well as about 4 others.

just great emersion there. Give it a shot and see who can bust up who the worst....

I heard that they put in aroung 80 different places that can be cut on a fighter's body. I'm guessing this includes the body as well.

Keep kicking that lead leg or to the body and you'll see it start to turn red.

I spent a whole match kicking the outside of Rua's lead leg and by the 3rd round, his leg was red and he appeared to be limping. Might have been the "I'm tired" animation though

Re: The damage system for cuts and blood....

Heh, I had two separate cuts on Rua's nose (and it was bloody from the nostrils), a giant mouse that started bleeding under his right eye, a smaller cut above and to the side of the same eye, bruised ribs, and a long cut on his left cheek. I can only imagine the abuse I'll be able to dish out over 5 rounds with no accelerated clock... get the cotton swabs ready!

The damage is great... one of the best parts about the game. You can really see when you're starting to kill someone, especially the reddening of their sides after you punsih them with body kicks.. so awesome. I always find myself attacking the side that's beat up also -- I'm not sure if they incorporated extra damage when atttacking a damaged side or not, but I do it anyway. I almost always watch the post-round cutman scene just to check out the face damage.

I also love how you can get cut from almost anything, just like real life -- it's not always some major blast shot that cuses damage, it's normally an inside elbow or something less noticeable.

Just wish the blood effects were better.. especially from a big cut. Would like to see a big crimson mask like the Stevenson/Penn fight

Yeah, that's true... I haven't seen a real gusher where blood was everywhere... they mostly just drip slowly and then splatter when you get punched on that spot. Maybe in the retail there will be additional blood/damage effects -- a lot of demos are missing peripheral stuff like that and then it shows up in the final.

I do really like that blood gets on the other fighter when the bleeder gets top position, etc.

Oh I can just imagine everybody playing as Kenny Florian and winning by cut now. LOL. I remember they had the redness from consective shots to a certain area in Sudden Impact. I am glad they have expanded on it.

1st Demo in a LONG time that actually impressed me. Not to mention what a great representation of the real sport as well.

I cant wait til the retail version drops. I think i am even more amped now that i SORTA have a better understanding of the ground game. Was able to keep chuck on his back for almost the entire round on ADVANCED. This game is VERY deep to say the least.

What was the point of that pic? That pic just reiterates what I said. There's not enough blood for big cuts.

I've tried this in two different fights. the first fight I did nothing but kick Chuck's lead leg for over 2 rounds. I didn't see any redness, and he didn't limp at all. He ended up KOing me in the 3rd.

Second fight I did nothing but kick Chuck on his right side of the body. Saw no redness, but by the mid 2nd, he would get rocked from every body kick. I kept backing away and letting him up and kept rocking him. He must've dropped about 12 times throughout the 2nd and 3rd rounds. I ended up winning by decision. All three judges gave it to me 30-24. But I didn't see any redness on his body.

Yeah that redness thing don't seem to be consistent in the demo. Hopefully in the final version it will be.
