Evans couldn't beat Tito, he only got the draw because Tito grabbed the fence and got penalized.

Also comparing BJ to a midget? really??
BJ has fought at 185+ a few times and for his fight with Lyoto he was 187 to Lyoto's 215. Yes there is a difference but not a ton. And as a crazy gifted as BJ is, skills can counter things like height and weight.
Royce Gracie has given up weight to plenty of fighters and won.
Even Marco Ruas vs Paul Varelans at UFC 7. thats 90 pounds plus of weight and 7" in height.

Ive been following Lyoto before he came to the ufc and I think he will shock the world in May. So get your sippy cup ready, we will have a new Light Heavyweight Champ.
I was exaggerating to make a point, bj is a 155 ib fighter, no matter how many donuts he ate to get to 185, he is not a legit threat in that weight class period.

Comparing fights from ufc 1-10 to modern day mma is just wrong, size did not matter in the 1990's when their was a huge skill level gap between fighters. Now a days size does matter, looks at GSP vs BJ, domination GSP was to big and to strong. The sport has evolved since the ruas varelans days.

Using BJ as machidas biggest win is just ********, thats like having miguel torres fight thiago alves, and declaring alves to be the next big thing bases on beating a top p4p 135 ib fighter.

I never said Machida was not a good fighter, i said he hasn't beaten a top tier fighter in his weight class which is true. He has the chance next month, if he wins then u can talk about how great he is.

I'm speaking strictly on the evolution of a fighter in a particular skill as opposed to the outcome of a fight.
The comparison was meant to show how you can't draw conclusions from small sample sizes.

Sure but I would give the developers the benefit of the doubt, taking into consideration they couldn't have rated Mir's stand-up solely on his fight against Nog (despite what was said in an article somewhere).

Maybe I'm giving the devs too much credit

I agree, Machida's ranking is dead on and will realize it after he picks aparts Evans and wins the title. Rashad is a great fight, who has a fighters chance, but Machida is a class above him. I can't wait to see Rampage v Machida. But the ratings seem fair, minus Jardine, who got hosed. Does anyone know if they are going to have downloadable rosters and create a fighter?

THQ says they have no plans to add fighters via DLC. They are looking to model the franchise as an annual thing, like Madden. Not something I'm happy about as I'd much rather they do something like Fight Night.

Hard to compare Tito to Chuck when Chuck was beating the brakes off him for years. Tito himself is the reason Chuck owned him. He ran his mouth too much.

I think they should have added punching speed and counter-punching speed and defensive reaction as ratings. Looks like they do have SPEED rating, but I don't know if this affects only movement speed or punching speeds. hopefully all things.

I mean like Machida, he dances so gracefully in his fights basically luring the opponent and then BAM! outta nowhere, straight left to the chops.

And his counter punching is just insane......as soon as the other fighter releases his punch, he counters right away and lands first most of the time. I have no idea why people think his style is boring. I will take that over a slugfest any day of the week, where both men show little tactics and elusiveness.

I know Machida is different than most LHW right now, so i am really hoping the game represents that. I wanna fight agasint him and WORRY about his counters and his traps. Something to think about to increase the realism for future iterations, maybe.

Like Liddell, for example, his defensive reaction now is pretty bad, so i think that should be represented in the game as well.

Well that's for next year maybe.

i saw a vid of Brock and he was punching with the speed of Roy Jones. Not sure about that speed rating.
