Regardless of what you think about Maynard attempting to fight in MMA, the speed he has is AMAZING! I was shocked to see how well he moved around.

That dude is a flat out ATHLETE. Crazy.

Actually, he's supposed to. It was too humid at the place, though, and they couldn't secure the gloves. So he wasn't allowed to attack with them, or something along those lines.

While he was crude and intentionally ripping on the guy, Sven made a few good points, points I've seen MMA writers bring up...How can he finish guys? He's a "constantly down" opponent, you can't kick him...

Like I said earlier, I applaud the guy for always pushing his limits and not settling, but IMO he doesn't have a place in MMA.

Realize that he usually wears gloves which allows him to strike. As it was, he could not strike because the humidity or heat in the arena was so great that night that he could not take the gloves on. Thusly, he could only strike to the body once on the canvas. If he wants to keep going, let him. If he ever gets anyone into his wrestling and submission areas, I hear he is pretty good.

You can't be serious. The dude doesn't have functioning arms and legs, how good can his striking and submissions really be? I don't know how many dudes would want to fight him either. I'd feel bad punting him as he comes charging at me across the cage. Next this dude is gonna try to compete in the Tour De France or something. More power to him for pursuing his dreams, but c'mon... lol
