Someone needs to piss in Lyoto's Cheerios and blame it on Anderson, but then again Machida might take it as a compliment.

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
I'm not quite willing to go that far yet. When it takes the seventh or eighth clean shot on the button to finally knock the guy out, let's put it this way, I don't know of many guys that couldn't knock someone out given that many opportunities.
I think what sets Machida apart is his precision. Machida I think has a little less power that a lot of guys, but he makes his strikes count and gets the most effective damage out of his strikes. It's like punching a window, you don't have to punch as hard if you punch in the right place. And Machida caught Rashad in the right place repeatedly in this fight.
He is gonna be a tough guy to beat. Probably won't be the fans' favorite fighter, but he might be sort of a gateway drug for a lot of casual fans to realize that there's more to fighting than just standing toe-to-toe swinging away.Comment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
Lame.
Then there is no one in the foreseeable future who will beat Machida. Someone is going to need to get real lucky to beat Lyoto. The only person that I think can give him a challenge is Page. After him...Evans again? Griffin? Come on.Too Old To Game Club

I think I might be more thrilled with this win than I was when BJ got it handed to him by GSP.
Seeing Evans lay in a heap on the mat absolutely rocked was a thing of beauty.Comment

Money talks. I think Dana will make it happen.
If Silva doesnt want the belt, he needs to stay the hell out of 205. Defend the middleweight belt against Maia, Marquardt, Hendu and Bisping.Comment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
Evans was very gracious too, i hope more people can get behind him in the future.
before the KO,... evans really impressed me. He threw a jab or a right can't remember...machida jumped back out of the way and in and landed 3 or 4 punch combo which was very fast and very impressive...BUT what really impressed me is that rashad took it and even rolled a couple and came back IMMEDIATELY with his own 3 punch combo.
If they fought again he could win, or same thing, or decision. I hope lot of people don't jump the gun saying Machida is invicible. That crowd vote of 60+% on Machida's side was BS...in no way was this outcome predictable, that was a reflection of how rashad's popularity is super low for a champ.
Ps. Rashad will KILL whomever he faces in his 1st fight after this.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
I don't see that at all. Anything is possible with Rampage because of his punching power and defense. Lyoto Machida is a beast but Rampage can end a fight with one punch and he is way more precise then Rashad Evans with it.Comment

Re: UFC 98: Evans vs. Machida
Rua maybe. Page could catch him or try to grind out a decision by wrestling. I'm not saying it will happen but its possible.Comment

Page has a shot. If he gets rocked like Evans did, though...yeah, Machida will be officially unbeatable.Too Old To Game Club
