Yeah, at first I thought the crowd was showing some odd fascination for Lavigne and chanting 'Yves' like Cowboys fans would chant 'Moose'. But then I noticed they were booing him, and when I read the play-by-play, I understood.

And keep in mind, he was also the ref in the inexcusable Pete Sell/Matt Brown fight not long ago. He stopped that fight briefly before telling Brown to continue on, and then let that fight go on forever as Brown was wailing on Sell, even imploring Lavigne to stop the fight at one point.

Not a good run for Yves. Can't imagine any fighter at this point being comfortable with him in the cage.

You and me both. I was really upset to hear Nover lost.

EDIT: Just read the PBP. Yves can die in a fire.

Rashad got caught by that straight left (trying to land that overhand right) just like everybody else. That's what got the ball rolling ...

Machida officially has the Tyson effect going. Cats are already beat before they step in the Octagon. You could tell that Rashad was in there thinking waaaaaaaaay too much.

Like I said earlier. in round 2 machida countered w/ a 3or4 punch combo off a rashad jab that really impressed me, but i was even more impressed that shad rolled them a bit and came back right away with his own 3 punch combo. shad also landed a 3 punch combo flush straight up in that round. If rashad didn't get punch drunk, the fight was still a close "who's going to land the big one" fight. To say Rashad was absolutely dominated every second is not true. he got caught, just like everyone does eventually. A good Ramp hook could put Machida's lights out. I'm not saying it will happen, but it's just ignorant to say it couldn't. Machida is a top fighter, but he's not some kind of superhuman, neither is silva and both of them don't deserve that status that they both now seem to be recieving.

Let's see what happens next ... machida's not done proving.
No, Rashaad was dominated. Went down in both rounds and only landed a few punches. Machida didn't even look like he was in a fight.

I was wondering that too. When it first happened I was thinking he was talking **** like he was doing in the Forrest Griffin fight. But, who knows.

At least Rashad's entrance music was better than Machida. It really was Time 4 Sum Aksion, just not for Rashad.

I want to see Machida utilize his Sumo skills on someone. The man is a REAL Martial Artist. Hopefully he can hold on to the belt for a long time.

Yeah, I thought it was funny last night on the wrap up show, when Rogen was saying how that Karate Schools were printing flyers and putting them on car windshields now.

He was being cocky and saying he was ok those punch don't hurt.Until machida caught him that one punch.

Everybody has declare machida the golden child after this fight and rightful so but until he gets take a real hit,i am going to doubt him.Yes his great speed and evasion ability is what is keep him from taking that big hit.

I am waiting for to go against rampage, griffin, wanderlei somebody good power who does not care about being hit.

I've got to ask, though - what does taking a good hit prove? The point is, he's dominated everyone he's fought while taking almost no damage. Who cares what kind of chin he has when you can't hit it? I don't think whether he has a strong chin or not has ANYTHING to do with his abilities or skills - which are out of this world right now.

And he already has fought someone like that - Thiago Silva. He murdered him.
