Re: OS MMA Random Thread
He normally fights at 145 and hasn't fought since Dec. To me he looked gassed halfway through the 1st round, so he may not have been in the best shape. I looked him up because I had seen his fighting style, but couldn't remember him. He only has 1 decision, so should be exciting even if he ends up losing. Would like to see what he does at 145.

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
I listened to Chael's appearances on Rogan's podcast as well as Fighter and the Kid. Really great shows even if he repeated a couple things on the second appearance from the first.
Jones was talked about a lot and at one point someone, I think it was either Rogan or Chael, said that it definitely isn't impossible that estrogen blockers were in a supplement. It didn't sound like it was likely, but it sounded like it was definitely possible.
If that is the truth then they need to do what Yoel did and provide the supplement so USADA can go buy it off the shelves and test it themselves (they obviously can't provide their own sample since it would most likely be self-tainted on purpose).
I am more inclined to believe that he messed around with PEDs when he was suspended and doing his body building/power lifting phase and once he cycled off upon his UFC return he started worrying about the estrogen after effects (I honestly know nothing about how these things really work, so I am just guessing here based on what I hear on podcasts and read in articles) and took some estrogen blockers thinking "it's whatever."
I don't think this is the end of Jon Jones. If he serves two years, comes back at age 30/31 and wins 8 straight fights to end his career or something like that he still goes down as GOAT. Guys like Ryan Braun have proved that the public has a short memory sometimes.
That being said, I also said I didn't think it would be the end of Ronda when she lost, and I am starting to think I was wrong about that, which sucks, because I love Ronda as a competitor so much and if she ends up quitting on that L she isn't who I believed she was."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
So if I'm trying to get into UFC(or MMA in general), what are some fights from the last 5-6 years that I should definitely check out?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: OS MMA Random Thread
Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar specifically the first fight. One of the most impactful fights in UFC history as far as pushing it toward the mainstream.
Lawler v MacDonald from 189
Those are two of my favorite fights.
Edgar v Maynard (any of them)
Henderson v Rua
are also pretty awesome fights.Last edited by Dogslax41; 07-14-2016, 12:17 PM.Comment

The pro wrestling fan in you will definitely want to watch the Anderson Silva-Chael Sonnen fights, and I'd also go out of your way to find some promo videos for those fights, because Chael was so good on the mic at this time.
GSP-Hendricks was a great fight, as was Jones-Gustafsson. Heck, Cormier-Gustafsson was another excellent fight.
Lawler-Hendricks had some nice battles and you definitely should watch Lawler-MacDonald.
Anything Conor McGregor-related is a must-watch, too.
