Re: MMA Off-Topic
Ufc had fighters retreat last weekend. Angela has been trolling cyborg on Twitter pretty hard.
Cyborg confronted her at retreat, and ended up punching her.
Angela is still being dumb on Twitter talking about pressing charges and cyborg losing her job or some nonsense

Re: MMA Off-Topic
Mighty Mouse's statement about Dana/UFC.
I'm glad to see him speaking out on this because I never really thought it was just a matter of him running from Dillashaw. That idea is crazy to me. While those two would be a much more interesting fight than MM vs. Borg, there's very little upside for him taking it. From a financial level, the card will still probably only do marginally better than whatever his best draw was. Then there's the weight thing. I really get it.
As a fan -- **** yeah, I want to see them fight. It would be great. But we've reached a point in the game where fighters aren't jumping every time the UFC barks orders. A lot of that can be attributed to how Dana's man Conor has changed the game. These are new times indeed.

Re: MMA Off-Topic
I think it's more how Dana has done business in the past. Conor has some impact on that, but very few fighters have that pull. He lays out very good points. Fighters are tired of being treated this way by Dana. With the union and more fighters speaking out, it is giving them confidence to say stuff in public.

As far as Dana goes, it's good that these fighters address these things from time to time. Just watching as a fan from the distance all of these years, a lot of his persona seems to be built upon intimidation and the whole "my way or the highway" approach. He has the ability to sway public opinion on a fighter due to him being outspoken, having a platform, and many people taking his word as the gospel. We on this forum know that Dana isn't always truthful or transparent, but the average fan doesn't.
I forgot who I heard say it, but they basically said that a lot of the prestige of the UFC has worn off. It's still the big show in MMA, but just fighting there isn't enough anymore. These fighters want to benefit like athletes do in other sports. They're not content to sit back with the whole "whatever is best for the UFC" attitude anymore. It was bound to happen at some point and it was a necessary change.
Kind of getting off on a tangent from MM a bit, but I really wonder how far off we are from a union of some sort. That whole thing with Bjorn, Tim Kennedy, etc, just smelled funny, but someone needs to take the reigns at some point.
