Re: MMA Off-Topic
Looking like Goddard may have interfered with the Simon decision. No where did the ref wave off the fight. Even after the doctors were in the cage, the ref still didn't wave it off. Goddard was cage side yelling that the fight was over.
Sure Dvalishvili may have gone out a few times, but the ref in the cage didn't stop it. Then it was over, no reversing course afterwards. Commission needs to fix it and give Dvalishvili the win based on scorecards or NC for the terrible ref.

Also a little bit concerned about refs being a little too lenient on the submission times after Mario Yamasaki messed up the Chiesa submission. The Condit finish comes to mind.Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
Since when, it isn't boxing. The fight was over not the round. No where does the ref in the cage wave it off, he is the only ruling official and he doesn't call the fight, even after the round ending and checking on him after the doctors were there.

If the fighter is unconscious at the end of a fight I think he should lose. I'm not sure if he was unconscious when the bell sounded though.Last edited by Dave_S; 04-23-2018, 01:32 AM.Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
If I were saying Lee would beat Barboza because he hypothetically beat Khabib. That is MMA math.
What I said was observing the differences between Khabib and Lee in performance against a common opponent.
A stylistic comparison rather than saying A would beat C because A beat B and B beat C.
There isn't much to MMA math- it works sometimes and it doesn't.
Overeem beat Lesnar then beat Mir.
JDS beat Carwin then Mir.
Ronda beat Tate, then loses to Holm, but Tate beat Holm.
Speaking of JDS, he got cleared by USADA today for containmented supplements.Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
Khabib and Lee have 2 common opponents.
Lee lost a decision to Ragin Al.
Both looked great against Edson but Khabib didn’t take any damage.. and I believe he could’ve finished Barboza inside 3 but he wanted to go the distance due to his inactivity.
Kevin Lee’s cardio, chin and heart are all questionable. His wrestling is the only factor in the fight with Khabib so maybe they should fight in the WWE
I think Khabib vs Conor at MSG in November is next.
Kevin Lee will fight Alvarez/Poirier and it’s Poirier who seems more likely since in Eddies recent interview he was saying he will sit and wait for Khabib lol.Comment

Re: MMA Off-Topic
Exactly, and just because Khabib beat Iaquinta and Iaquinta beat Lee doesn't mean Khabib would necessarily beat Lee.
I think 1v1 stylistic comparisons are better predictors than past common opponents in general, but they all provide information.Comment
