The thread title seems like a bit of a misrepresentation.
As for the Tapout guys, whatever. I'm not a fan of them being in the game, but it's not really gonna bug me. -

Yeah, but it's not like THQ sat around one day and went, "Well, we could get Couture, or we could get the Tapout guys. Let's get the Tapout guys."
Couture has long had issues with UFC, especially with regards to licensing issues between him, the UFC, and Couture's Affliction brand. I'm betting that has more to do with Couture not being in the game than any decision THQ made.Comment

But my point is a lot of this isn't in THQ's control. Remember the whole situation where Fitch was released for a day when he wouldn't sign a contract giving the UFC the use of his likeness for pretty much whatever they wanted? I'd imagine it's similar for other guys, especially Couture, who has long clashed with the UFC over business issues.
THQ can't just say, "Let's use man hours and put Guida in the game." There's a whole host of business and licensing issues that involve THQ, the UFC, the fighters, their management, potentially even their sponsors, which complicates these things.
Laying the blame solely on THQ for the results is probably a bit unfair.Comment

Mask and the Tap Out crew is in there just based upon respect and remembrance. For that I can understand. As for "The Natural", yes he has not been confirmed yet but we can all still hope. I mean he's back fighting in the octagon under contract so I personally still have high hopes that he will be in the game. Along with Shamrock and Gracie. Randy Coulture will never be in any video game. He refuses to be in any video game. He has a phobia of somebody controlling him and doing stuff to him on a game. That is why out of Tapout, Tapout 2, Throwdown, Sudden Impact and now this game, he wasn't in there.
He refuses to sign the contract to let him be in the game.
As far as Hamill and Guida, they were hurt during the shooting part of the game and couldn't make it. Scheduling conflict, that is why they aren't in it yet.
Mask been in EVERY UFC game. If it wasn't for Tapout, there wouldn't be a UFC. They are the original and oldest sponsor of UFC, dating back to 1993.Comment

I just got my Fight! magazine (May09) in today and the article says:
Liddell and Jardine odd striking styples were left out
Southpaw stance couldnt be included DUE TO THE COLLISION SYSTEM
Clay Guida was given the option to cut his hair and be in the game, DUE TO CLIPPING
Mir's striking stats reflect his last fight with ARN
The above will be fixed in the next game, they are already workign on itComment
