Just had my first online match.
Me: Matt Hughes vs Stroker32: GSP
I won by 1st round TKO. He kept trying the superman punch and I landed a strong right to his jaw as he came in with his 7 sp's. Knock him against the cage and just ground n pound until Herb Dean came in to stop it. Fight lasted 2 min and some change but, it was pretty laggy.
All n all not bad. Can't wait to actually play some people on here that actually now what to do. I'm still learning so I know I'm not that good but, I know better than to try 7 sp's in a row.

Remember the guys throwing all those supermans and special punches use ALOT of stamina, so if u can weather the storm, later rounds u will be able to get a easy sub or GnP.Comment

The navigation in this game is a bit slow for my taste. It just takes too long to load up screens, definitely could have avoided it. No biggie though.Anyone else get chills from the menu commentary segments? It'll sort of break out of the music and some real commentary from a fight will start - and it's awesome to listen to. The Mir/Nog fight commentary was just on, and I literally got chills down my spine listening to it.
Just surfing the menus in this game is awesome

but i don't like the music - it's not that it's bad, but I prefer videogams to have 'menu music' as in not licensed tracks ...i want it to be ambient background music. The replay music sometimes comes up in the menus and that's good, but having rock blaring all the time is too much and distracting. I don't want music during menus to draw attention to itself especilaly since it's loud and the same songs over. Oblivion and Fallout are good and so is nfl2k5 w/ the espn sports tracks which are sporty but unassuming. I hate mlb 2k9's music, allpro's was ok, and most EA gmaes I can't stand the tracks either.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Picked up the 360 version and here's my first impressions...
First match I take Lesnar (me) vs Sylvia (CPU) and pound him to a TKO 36 seconds into round 2. I had no idea what the heck I was doing. I haven't gone through the in-game tutorials yet, I was just mashing with the A, B, X, Y buttons. Oops, after the match I notice the default is set to beginner. I change it to advanced - now we're talking.
I re-started the same match-up as above on advanced and Sylvia basically stands there like a punching bag so I KO him 41 seconds into the 2nd round. This is not good.
I decide to fight someone who wants to go to the ground. I take Lesnar again against Coleman and it was a totally different story. He mounts me in less than a minute and I'm a fish out of water laying there until he turns my face into mashed potatoes. I try a rematch, this time trying my best to keep him standing but same thing happened. It's time to learn some ground fighting so I peruse the strategy guide and pick up some skills. 10 rematches later with Coleman and I'm getting closer to beating him and there have been some epic moments.
I take a better look at the strat guide and holy crap have I got some homework to do. This game is great and is going to be a blast online, but I hope there's not too many cheats discovered. I can see people who are being dominated resorting to cheap tactics.
This probably could've been a demo impression but just thought someone out there might enjoy a noob impression. This is the first UFC game I've played.Comment

Just lost back 2 back by subs. I actually feel ok lossing because I know I messed up both time trying to do something different and got caught.
Now, I figure out how to get out of sum attempts. Back to the drawing board.Moderator

Went 11-4 online. A pretty good experience overall. They really need to do something about quitters.
I just so happened to be matched up with a guy on a 14 win streak. I was really excited, I wanted to be the guy to break the streak. I believe he chose Penn, I chose Huerta. Started off back and forth, both of us feeling each other out. Then in the second I started to dominate. I was countering everything he threw at me, and working him with some GnP. Midway through the second round his guy was extremely tired. We got into a sprawl and he tried a major transition and somehow I reversed it into a guillotine choke. I had Penn on the second level of the submission (the position right before they're about to tap)...

cool small detail Ive notice...
With my CAF, his slams sound weak(at first I thought it was that the game's SFX wasnt loud enough) with his strenght so low...Did the same slam with Brock at it sound like a berserker!Comment
@ THQ for making the generic fighters look like real people....This black guy's cut was sharper than mines lol...
