Re: Official UFC Undisputed 2009 Impressions
wow, here is a video someone made playing against machida on expert....
it's very clear they did a good job representing his style in this game. I was very surprised (pleasantly) to see him fight like this. He blocked everything and did a good job of counter-striking that is until he got caught early 3rd round. ( he lost the next 2 against Machida).
A buddy of mine also said Machida is the toughest fighter to score on and if you get too aggressive , he will punish you. And he is very good at the game, he didn't lose one match on expert against either shogun/liddell in the demo and that was 10 plus fights he played in front of me like a week or so ago when he came to visit.
I'm very happy to see how fighters have specific tendencies in the game. This will definitely make the game have more longevity. Well done THQ.....Comment

Watch hours from now Darkleaf is going to post again saying we don't know what we talking about. That we can't do this, can't do that.
Darkleaf's song is blame it on the leg kicks.Comment

Re: Official UFC Undisputed 2009 Impressions
In career mode, are there separate fights from yours? In other words, are the titles in other weightclasses contended for outside of the one you're fighting for?
I'm hoping career mode is open ended, to where it follows a calendar year like Madden, NBA 2K, etc...instead of being a quest for a championship.
Thanks in advance.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Official UFC Undisputed 2009 Impressions
This game is great for a first outing, but
<HR style="COLOR: #393939" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->it still needs a lot of work and variation to make it a long lasting franchise. I just wish the fighters seemed more unique, but most if not all feel to much a like IMHO.

Now, compare it to what we were originally shown.

I mean in the E3 vid it actually looked like the fighters each had there specific fighting nuances and personalities.
This game is still fun to play with friends, but the more I play it the more let down I am. Guess I just expected to much this time around.

Re: Official UFC Undisputed 2009 Impressions
Important question I haven't seen asked, does your fighter age in career mode? It says it's 7 years but if I set my guy for age 21 will he be 28 at the end of it? (This is important for making real life fighters that were left out or classic fighters who I'd want at their prime ages)Comment

No I'm 28, made myself as 28 and 2 years in I'm still 28. I like this even though it's a contradiction, because when you retire him he'll be at his best at the age you want him at. Yeah it's a bit lame that in the career you don't really 'age', but you'll finish a career in a matter of days, weeks etc...so it's nice to have whomever you create to be somewhat current. Plus a lot of UFC guys would be uber-old for fighters if that happened too. You'd have captured all these guys only to have half of them too old to fight and retired. lolLiquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment
