My little disclaimer for those planning on buying UFC.

This is a Mixed Martial Arts(NOT boxing or K1) game, and it's a fairly deep one at that. You have to steer the fight in a direction that will cater to your fighter's strengths. Learn how to deal with all aspects of the game. I've already had a few people (who seemed to be anticipating this game as much as I have been seeing as how they have it early) complain/quit when I bring the fight to the ground and work the mat.

If I'm using someone who has 80+ ground grapple offense, what the hell do you expect me to do? Stand up and exchange blows with your 85+ striking offense? If you want to do that, then I suggest you just wait for Fight Night Round 4.

Or am I just crazy because I love submitting and KO'ing via ground and pound? Am I just a cheesy boring fundamentalist that enjoys a nice little mind game on the mat? Either way, IDGAF. Maia and Sanchez FTMFW. And Vera.

This is legit reasoning. It's called MMA and you must play to your strengths and weaknesses. I love MMA in general and figured this game would help me learn more things so that I can enjoy it better. I prefer ground and pound and submitting guys too but know that I'll also need to have some stand up game to hold them off until I get them on the ground.

Lmao @ Darlon. This thread is funny but true. If I'm fighting Matt Hughes and the guy never goes for a takedown I'd be pretty surprised. I know it probably gets frustrating if you can't get any strikes off when you want to keep it on your feet, but that's just MMA.

Asian, we're not allowed to have sig pics here btw. Just letting you know because a mod will say something sooner or later.

I am hoping to avoid all this by playing ONLY the OS crew and some of my buddies. We know what sim games are. Unlike 90% of the brain dead lobby trash

I cant believe you are really running into this problem this early in its release. It really is sad that some people cant understand what the game truly encompasses.

I love the ground game, and I plan on using characters that utilize it to the max. If my opponents can't handle it...then hey easy victory.

I'm not surprised really. Half the people who buy this game are Fight Night nuts and treat the game like it is Fight Night. The other half of the people are WWE nuts and try to treat this game like a WWE game with their running around, doing random punches and kicks even though they are no where near striking range.

So far I say only about 5% of the people who have the game are actual MMA fans and know what MMA actually is.

This is why I am looking forward to this game.

A lot of guys I play with are stand up guys, and I like fighting guys who try to take it to the ground. It's the irresistible force vs the immovable object. I love the dynamic between one trying to keep it standing while the other is trying for takedowns.

IMO, this game has almost perfect balance from what I've seen in the demo. I'd imagine that a great standup vs a great sub artist would just be such a great battle.

                I cannot wait for Tuesday.

Good call. If someone was using lidell, wouldn't you wanna try to get him on his back cause thats his weakness?? Its like any game, exploit your opponents weaknesses and try to capitalize.
