Re: UFC 2009 Create-A-Fighter request
Given that rating basis, Journeymen, Contenders, Champs, P4P, "Generational" fighters...Kimbo would be a 60-something, not quite a schmo like you and I (we'd be 40-50) but also not some guy that will come in and dominate a division like most people think he would, or even be exceptionally successful.
If you want a realistic assessment of Kimbo, you give him sub-Liddell K.O. power, with crap Muay Thai, Grappling, Wrestling and BJJ skills. There's your Kimbo as he appeared on EliteXC, a guy that will KYTFO if you end up on the end of one of his fists, but totally clueless on the ground or when faced with a true MMA specialist, despite being trained by Bas Rutten. This is why he's going into boxing. He doesn't learn and doesn't listen. He's an animal and he can't understand the 'technique' required to apply an armbar, much less an omniplata....nor could he escape a triangle choke of even the most brown of brown belt BJJ practictioners. He fights with emotion and power, not skill. CAF him appropriately, or he'll ruin your division.Last edited by Guifré; 05-19-2009, 07:34 PM.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Create-A-Fighter request
Goes without saying:
Miguel 'Angel' Torres - from WEC (as LW)
Urijah Faber - from WEC (as LW)
Patrick Cote - How did he miss the cut?
Suggestions for enhancing gameplay
Renato 'Babalu' Sobral - from Affliction/Strikeforce.
Sam Stout - UFC
Mark Hominick - Affliction
I think you'll find Faber and Torres will be requested often given the lack of talent at LW...Cote should also be a no-brainer.
Wonder if you're Canadian.Comment

You watch MMA right?
Tell me one of those Canadians isn't as or even more deserving than Jason MacDonald who isn't even in the UFC anymore...for the 2nd time!
Cote fought for the title and lost due to an injury he caused himself. Hominick in Affliction is sublime and Stout would add some much needed KO power to a division that is largely characterized by Wrestlers, BJJ specialists and Grapplers.Last edited by Guifré; 05-19-2009, 07:40 PM.Comment

Re: UFC 2009 Create-A-Fighter request
I'd love to see a good Bobby Lashley CAF. He debuted with Mixed Fighting Alliance (MFA) and won via TKO (cut) over Joshua Franklin in 41 seconds of rd 1. Then he beat Jason Guida by unanimous decision.
Lashley is currently with the Maximum Fighting Championship (MFC) and embarrased Mike Cook, (wearing a pro wrestling mask) with a choke just 24 seconds into the first round.
His next fight is supposed to be with Bob Sapp, (10-3-1 MMA record).
Here are his physical stats -
Height - 6 ft 3 in
Weight - 250 lb
Nickname - The Dominator (not in UFC Undisputed)
Nationality - American (born in Junction City, KS on July 16, 1976
Age 32
Fights out of Denver, Colorado
Current Team/Association - American Top Team
Anyone got some ideas about what his attributes should be? I know he is a boxer/wrestler and that he is a big dude with punching power. With only 3 pro fights it's hard to judge his overall skill, although Brock Lesnar has had a similar short fighting career (3-0 also) and is rated very highly in the game.
Both guys have similar amateur wrestling backgrounds and are built very similarly.

Everyone seems to think big guys have big punching power, however it's all relative to size. Lashley would have great power compared to say...Forrest Griffin, but comparatively speaking, to a guy in his division like a kickboxer such as Kongo or Hardonk, I'd say it's average.
I'd be curious to see him against a more veteran fighter. He started out with two nice fights, but Sapp is very much a tuna can now.
People have to remember these CAF's will naturally grow. Overrating someone will only taint your career mode or your game.Comment

I thought someone said if you start a career you will have to re-rate your character ratings as like you do in fight night when you start a career.Comment
