    Stuffing Takedown Help!!!

Some of the time when I stuff a takedown, it just brings us both into a sprawl back to our feet but other times you stuff it and gain advantage on the guys back. I do the exact same thing (to the best of my knowledge, pull back on R3 and button mash) How do you do the second one where you get advantage as opposed to just getting a sprawl.
    Thanks

When you're in the sprawl position, the person on bottom can major transition back to their feet. The person on top can major transition to guard.

I'm assuming it has to do with the skills of the fighters involved. A good defender probably has a better chance of controlling the sprawl, whereas a good takedown guy probably has a better chance of avoiding that situation.

        No it works like this.

HOLDING back on the RS before the shoot will be a take down STUFF. Where u block the take down but both end up standing back up. This is also where u spin or mash the buttons to avoid the take down. They either take u down or it is a take down stuff.

FLICKING the RS back at the moment they shoot for the take down will result in the COUNTER stuff. Where u end up in a sprawl above them, with them on their knees.

I'm not sure it's quite as clean and simple as that. I've had times where I've gotten control in the sprawl position where I never even hit the right stick at all, just button mashing.

I'm also pretty sure I've had times where I've gotten control of the sprawl where I was just holding back on the right stick, not flicking it. I've never flicked the right stick to try and 'reverse' a takedown, at least not intentionally.

It is that simple, but u have to time the flick correct, personally i just keep flicking back, so even if i miss the flick, its like rotating and i stuf the td.

I'm not saying flicking the stick doesn't work, I'm saying I've controlled the sprawl without even doing that. My point is the system isn't as simple as 'hold to block, flick to control', because I've had both of those results without ever touching the right stick on a takedown attempt.

If you aren't striking, and don't use the stick to stop the takedown, the takedown attempt becomes a button mashing or stick spinning contest. Both sprawls can be a result of this. I think this yields a random result. What Phobia said is true, but only when you use the stick to counter a takedown.
