The career mode is in pretty good order, and the graphics are superb. But like most gaming companies these days, they put graphics or gameplay and extra way too much. Heres what I think so far.
1. I heard the UFC developers say that they didnt want to water the game down by putting in entrances that you would skipping thru after the 2nd or 3rd time. But thats pretty contradicting seeing as the fighter intros and cutscenes between rounds are basically the same thing. The fact that there is no entrances is a joke. There should be entrances with your camp, custom music from your hard drive, and entrance only attire. You want to be considered for game of the year, you need that.
2. The create a player isnt deep at all. Its pretty basic. The custom trunks are bland. No body morphing. Cant be taller than 6'3. The tattoos are worth about 5 cents. The fact that you cant move the logos or tattoos where you want them is remedial.
3. Your age stays the same thru multiple years. Ive been 24 for 5 years now.
4. They need to take an idea from MLB the show and have name recognition. Where Buffer will be able to say names from a database, instead of calling by one of the six lame nicknames they have for you in the game. This is super cheesy.
5. Gameplay is not a smooth as the made it out to be, but its still good. This game has a huge learning curve. You have to play many tutorials to even get a grasp of what to do. Its confusing, but I do like that it takes a while to master it.
6. The training that boosts your skills level is WAAYYY too difficult, even on begginner. Its not really difficult as much as it is frustrating because of the CPUs AI.
Overall its a decent game, but I saw a thread here at OS that said UFC Undisputed might be Game of the Year.....NOT EVEN CLOSE.
I also like how they bury Lesnar, Ortiz, and Liddell. I havent seen those guys win a fight at all in my career.
We need:
-Entrances with attire, custom music.
-Real Names put in a database, so theres a chance Bruce Buffer could call me by my real name and not by the lame nicknames they have.
-Create a player could be deeper.
-Age glitch in career mode should be fixed.
-More customization and free lance placements options for tattoos on the body, and logos on the shorts. Maybe even be able to make a custom flag for you to lay out in your corner during the fight intros, instead of the USA flag every time.
