Ok let this thread be for SUBMISSION MOVES list only. That way when people get the game and ask how to do this submission move they can go to this thread, instead of wading through the dozens of posts on the strategy guide thread.

So everybody pitch in and post how to do different submission moves in different positions. Because you know people not going to do the tutorial mode and just come right online asking how you do this.

I'll start it off.

Knee bar while you on the ground and the opponent is standing = LB + RSB

Hmmm ok since somebody already asked what the controls are for everything, I guess they rented the game, here it is.

LB - High/Special Modifier
LT - Low Modifier
-
RB - High Guard
RT - Low Guard
-
Left analog stick - Movement
Right analog stick - Clinching/Grappling
Click Right analog stick - Submission Attempt
Spin Right analog stick - Lock in/Escape Submission Attempt (or button mash)
-
Y - Right Punch
X - Left Punch
A - Left Kick
B - Right Kick

D Pad = taunts and touch gloves

You would be surprised....over the past 7 months I have seen people ask the simplest questions hundreds of times on how to do things on NBA 2K9. Just 2 days ago I seen somebody post how do you do a bank shot or bounce pass.

From rubber guard you can throw the Omoplata but it is not a sub. It is just to get out the position your in. But I don't think ANYONE has been submitted in the UFC by a omaplata, reason why it is not in most likely.

Nah, no one has been submitted by it(in the UFC anyways). Just a random question, thanks I'ma try that right now. Practice mode FTW.

I'm yet to submit an opponent in my career. I'm 7-2 on the easiest difficulty (probably going to step it up soon... I've won 5 in a row).

Is it because my guy is a wrestler and not BJJ or Judo on the ground? I've built his submission offense to over 50, and I attempt a lot of submissions, but none of them work.

Also, my guy has low strength. I'm working more on cardio and speed. Do I need strength to submit an opponent?

Is that factoring into why I can't submit anyone or am I just doing it at the wrong time/not good enough?

Which grapple move do I have to reverse in Clinch to get the guillotine choke?
Are there other reversals resulting in subs?

Normally that guillotine just comes with the wrestling power slam where they lower their head into grabbing range -- you grab them as soon as they go for it and end up in the submission.

Really? I take it back then. Im always big on learning everything in a game before I start playing it online.

I just had a match online against someone who wanted to trade toe to toe with Hendo using Rua. When i asked why he didnt try to take me down, he said "dont know how. I just hit buttons man" He has had the game for 2 days....He lost.

So it seems noone reads directions or does tutorials anymore.

My guy is boxing and judo, and I've yet to submit anyone in about 18 fights. I have my sub O well over 60 so I'm starting to get confused as to why I can't make anyone tap. I've been tapped out once or twice though.

Yeah, I just told my brother to make a guy (he loves the Fight Night Series) so we could duke it out when i got home. I told him to make sure to read the tutorials, and start on easy to get used to the game. He didnt read the tutorials and his guy is 0-3 and he still refuses to go through the tutorials lol
