The biggest problem with UFC undisputted

This is a great game without a doubt. I enjoy the intensity of every fight. I like the graphics and gameplay. I feel the career mode is horrible, but the main problem with this game is that when someone is hitting you, you can't swing back while your getting hit. I find this to be very annoying and very unrealistic. The game is built this way. The game won't let the animations of the other fighter come out when the fighter is being hit with either punches or kicks. I'm pretty good in this game. I have an undefeated record in ranked online matches. I've had the game since last thursday. Like I said, it's a great game and i play it everyday. I just wish that this game had a realistic physics engine. Like real life fights both fighters can swing at will towards each other. It's called brawling. I wish they can address this on future UFC games.

Yeah, that's always when major clipping problems would happen... If they couldn't work in Guida's hair or southpaws, they definitely couldn't handle that kind of interaction with the first iteration. I agree with you, but I think it's a bit too much to expect at this point, especially for an initial effort.

you can block or shoot for a takedown or even clinch while getting hit.

Yeah but you can't punch, because your arm would go through the other guy's punching arm if you're throwing a right and he's throwing a left... so the game just doesn't let you strike until it's over. That's also why you get caught with those weird-looking twitchy contact hits when both guys go for a kick at the same time, etc. -- one is ultimately quicker and it just cancels out the other guy's action, cancels the animation mid-way through, and switches to the "getting hit" animations.

Say you wind up for a superman punch but it's lazy and your timing was off; and on the other end your opponent has perfectly timed a low shoot. What you'll see is the beginnings of your superman punch, the beginnings of his shoot, then a stall, then your punch not do jack, and his shoot animation kick in.

There's nothing wrong with this. It's exactly what should be happening. You lost the exchange, your animation suffers and his doesn't.

Your complaint here is that "Oh, man, that sucks my superman punch didn't finish. These physics are unrealistic."

It is unrealistic in a certain sense; I do see what you're talking about; but it's not unrealistic in that it's just the consequence (a bad one) of your timing being off, no different or less realistic then when a punch is successful and blocks your opponent's animation from finishing. He tries to go in for a clinch, eg, but can't because temporally you've already clocked him. It's not "unrealistic" for his clinch animation not to finish in this scenario, it's you winning the exchange that causes his clinch animation not to finish.

I agree. and also there are many times where you can both hit each other at the same time. Im very satisfied with the engine. It allows glancing blows, punches thru blocks, and takes momentum into consideration in regards to kicking or striking power.

He does have a point - unfortunately, you'll never see a fight like this in the game:

                <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/J-AkC8l-8Xc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/J-AkC8l-8Xc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Those can be some pretty exciting fights when two guys just decide to hammer each other.

I have more of a problem with it being difficult to bring ur hands up to block during these instances.

My biggest problem is that when ever you sidestep, dash forwards or backwards, If you are blocking, your fighter drops his hands. This is the stupidest thing that slipped through IMHO. It makes no sense at all.

the sidestep always leaves your guy too close to the opponent. You can run back and get distance but if you try that sidestep/ side hop movement they do it too close to the opponent.

I think the distance is fairly accurate, just the dropping of the hands is rediculous.

Not only that but, you can swing back sometimes until your opponent stops wailing on you. Something like this video will never happen in the game.
