Re: Wrestlers and their garbage tactic
I have no problem with soccer kicks or knees to the head on a grounded opponent. The two things I mentioned are different in my eyes.Comment

Re: Wrestlers and their garbage tactic
At the end of the day, MMA is a brutal sport no matter what. We're talking about a sport where it's legal to restrict the most vital element of life, oxygen. Honestly, I don't see a problem with nut shots, hair pulling, and covering the mouth when you really look at what the sport is to begin with. If you can restrict air, I don't see how anything else is considered illegal. What's wrong with gouging out a persons eyeballs? It's only vision he loses. At least he can still live without eyes. You can't live without air.

The key word that was repeated in that paragraph is sport. That's exactly what MMA is. It's a very brutal sport, but nevertheless it's a competition that requires rules. I would not be interested in watching anything where eye gouging, biting, hair pulling, or anything else of the sort was allowed.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 05-26-2009, 04:26 PM.Comment

Re: Wrestlers and their garbage tactic
I hate it too, and wouldn't mind if they made it illegal. There are too many fingers wandering fast around the face and people put their fingers in the eyes all the time. You often see the guy on the ground squinting to protect against it. If they allow that, you should be able to bite the damn fingers! GET THAT **** OUT OF MY ****ING MOUTH!!! ...know what I mean?!!?

Re: Wrestlers and their garbage tactic
low blows, eye gouging, hair pulling, strikes to the base(back) of the head, knees to the head of a downed opponent, to a certain degree up kicks to the chin, are illegal for a reason. You have to have some sort of rules in this brutal sport, to protect the fighters to some degree.
It's a fighting competition not a death match.Last edited by Stack; 05-26-2009, 04:29 PM.Comment

Re: Wrestlers and their garbage tactic
From someone who grapples, having something over your mouth really does disrupt your breathing, it can be pretty annoying. I also think its a beat cheesy, imo you wana KO or SUB your opponent, not sit their holding their mouth shut.
I also find the gi at bjj in general to be lame also (personal opinion). And put mouth covering in the same category of lame as gi chokes, and for kickboxing the constant front kicker.Comment

Re: Wrestlers and their garbage tactic
It makes total sense man, it is annoying, will u pass out from a hand over your mouth...no. Still it disrupts your breathing and if you are already fatigued it can make it rather difficult to recover as quick as normally.
I don't know why you are comparing it with a choke...Comment

Re: Wrestlers and their garbage tactic
Why will I not fit in? Because I am a real fighter and get pissed off at reading 14 year old geeks on message boards who think they know about fighting but are completely off??? You're right, if thats the case I won't fit in hereComment

Now on to your total lack of respect. NO ONE will take you serious or even care what you say. Just like the real world buddy, you talk down to someone and you will get ZERO respect. I personally don't believe a word that has come out your mouth. Oh and no i have never fought MMA(So that makes u know more than me right?? LOL). But I use to Box though.Comment
