Guys he said it is a pet peeve. It's like if I said my biggest pet peeve with the UFC is that they were like 3 shirts to the ring and stand there for 2 minutes taking everything off like they didn't know they couldn't wear it all in the ring. It's just something that one person doesn't like. He understands that it has value in the fight, and can see that it can help the fighter gain a better position, but the he just doesn't like it.

Fingers in the eyes is a no no, but hands over the eyes and face is fine. I see nothing wrong with that. You also here the ref all the time warning the fighters to watch those eyes.

I just don't agree. I don't think it's sporting tactic, and also, the salt/sweat from the fingers and cloves could get in the eye - it's just really cheap. If you're already on top, why do you also need to smear your sweaty stinky gloves and fingers all over someone's face.

If that's allowed, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to put hands over other illegal areas. this made me LOL, but I'm dead serious. you're rubbing your hands over an illegal area
I don't think they should be allowed to put their hands on a guy's balls to disrupt him, so get those stinky dirty fingers OUTTA MA FACE!!!! seriously though...if he can do you, you should be able to effing spit on him. It's such a bitch move. If someone was doing that in real life - throw unwritten rules out the window and go for the jugular. I don't think it should be legal and made quality points about it.

Another thing is, if you can't plug someone's nose and cover their mouth as hard as you can, you should be allowed to do these 'half-measure's'. I could keep ranting about it, but I'll stop.

...Just one last thing...lol...i know the ref's say 'watch those eyes' ...but so what? there are dirty guys out there, and putting your hands and fingers over another's eyes means he closes them and can't see. ...again...bitch tactic. ESPECIALLY if you can win without it.

Well I have Bas Ruttens big dvds of combat, and he explains how to use it well. It isnt cheap, and it isnt meant to hurt your opponent, but to distract them. I am no pro fighter or anything, but I know a little bit and have taken a few classes, and love the sport. :wink:
