    UFC 2009 online Flaws

I made this thread because ufc is really starting to piss me off. First of all, ground transitions are too easy defensively. OI don't care who you are, Frank Mir cannot pick brock lesnar up and flip him over from the bottom. Also, fighters like gsp are easily pushed off on the ground, when world class wrestlers like that should not be.

Also, i'm sick and tired of all the little bitches who play online and spend the whole fight running away, waiting for the other person to strike and miss and then counter. That is so unrealistic it's ridiculous. Normally, I wouldn't care, I'd just take them down and ground and pound so they couldn't run away, but because of the flaws mentioned above, I can't even do that.

And finally, I dont know if this is the game or just my controller, but a couple times, I have lost because i was out in a submission, and mashed the buttons to escape, but it did not sense that i was hitting the buttons, and my guy just sat there and let himself get submitted.
Anyone else have problems with it?

HAHA I knew someone was gonna do that to. Clearly you do not understand what i mean by it being so un realistic. Lyoto Machida waits, and attacks when he has an opportunity. The ppl Im talking about don't do that, If you never go attack them, there would be no strikes thrown in the fight. Lyoto Machida gets involved in clinches with judo and wrestling, he looks to knock ppl out and submit them. The people I'm talking about spend the whole fight running backwards, and throwing high kicks, and only high kicks, so don't try and give me this Lyoto Machida similarity bull**** because it's not the same.

I just do not understand what people expect from video games.

And aside from that, I definatly dont have the issues you seem to on the ground. Considering this is the first attempt at a mma game(in years) its done well. Looking at the crap you get in other games this one is fine with me.

And believe me, i have played enough of the game to see its flaws clearly. If the same issues are in UFC10,11,12 then you can complain. I keep reading both of your posts to figure out whats wrong, and i keep seeing that guys dont fight to your style and you dont like it. I have zero troubles keeping people on the ground. Maybe your controller is bad (like you said) and its not realizing your blocking the transitions. One of my controllers DOES have that problem.

Yeah, I have basically no complaints about this game online still. There are clearly a few preferred "styles" that 75% of people online use, but other than the predictability of their strategies, I have a great time playing online. There's a counter to everything if you know what you're doing and use the appropriate style (i.e. if they pick a striker and you pick Noguiera, you really don't want to just trade with them.. gotta be smart)...

The MT clinch is slightly overpowered yes, but you do get hit with major stamina loss if you keep doing it, especially if it gets blocked a few times and you don't actually do much damage. That would be the only balance issue I've really seen, and it's not even that bad since you can usually get out of the clinch early on by just holding RS away from them and punching a few times. Otherwise, just block your head (hope the blow doesn't still come through and damage you, which is the real problem with the clinch) and wait for them to get tired then take it to the ground and submit them.

Yeah the MT clinch is definitely overpowered, but does come at a risk. Another complaint would be the cheesy submissions. I haven't had one in a bit though, where early in the fight when one would attempt a submission, it would basically be over. Happen a lot during the early stages of the F2B league.

OP, the flip side is that they could have designed the game so that Brock would lay on you and there wouldn't be anything you could do about it. I prefer the way the developers made the game. If a person is on the top, and they make a mistake, the person on the bottom (if he knows what he is doing) can make the person on the top pay. I've been watching a lot of UFC unleashed lately (TiVO is great) and that's exactly what I have seen in the Real Octagon.

I haven't had many complaints with online. I've run into a couple of cheaters, but for the most part I'm happy with my results. I'm 24-21. I'm also starting to find some counters for cheaters which have been very satisfying.
