That and the other one I made oh-so-long-ago when the BJ vs. GSP II rumor kicked up shortly after their fight and none of the posts are aplicable any more.

I wouldn't be suprised. Going to be a fantastic bout.

He has a puncher's chance. That's it.

I want Alves to beat GSP more than I've ever wanted a fighter to beat another fighter in my life. I would be shocked if GSP dominates Alves like he did Hughes, Serra, and Penn. Alves is huge compared to those guys and is bigger than GSP too. This one should be a good one.

A guy like Chris Lytle would have a puncher's chance. Alves has a bit more of a chance that that. He's certainly the underdog, but let's not be too quick to discount him. Neither Koscheck or Hughes could control him with their wrestling, so Alves has a decent chance at being able to somewhat neutralize GSP's wrestling and improving submissions. And if this fight stays standing, it's very close.

No doubt Alves is skilled, and I certainly wasn't placing him in the category of Chris Lytle. I feel GSP will be able to strike without putting himself in too much danger given his 6" reach advantage and quick foot work. Koscheck actually got several good shots in on Alves, and he certainly isn't known for his great striking.

I believe GSP can keep the match pretty technical, and if that is the case, he will win.

The only thing that truly concerns me is if GSP shoots for a takedown and eats an Alves knee.

I just think one of them will try something crazy and it'll work.

So what's being expected of the Lesnar/Mir fight? Over in 2 minutes either way? An all time classic wrestling vs. BJJ battle going all 5 rounds with a 1 point split win?

I Lesnar to be a little safe at first feeling out the stand up. He'll probably catch Mir with something and pound him out in the first. Similar to the Randy/Brock ending.

I agree with you completely and want to add gsp's tremendous speed advantage...I don't think his danger is eating knees shooting, but his biggest danger is getting through bum rushes...weathering the storm or whatever you want to call it. To me, if you want to ko gsp, that's what you'd have to do is basically dash at him and keep bulldozing. As soon as he has a say in what's going on, you're screwed.

Jon Fitch fight should be good as well, Mir takes the belt, while GSP takes the bout on points and Bisping destroys Henderson.
I kinda like bisping and all, but i'm not convinced he's at that level. henderson got beat by silva, but arguably won the first round --- he's not like the guys bisping has beaten. Henderson is dangerous.

Paying for it despite the rip off here. I'd rather have this one in HD. Who watches it online afterwards anymore? That's so 2007!
